In t *1st* part of this *V* we can see that it is t “The *thief* that *steals, kills, and destroys*.”
And *who is t thief*?
It’s *not God*, if it was, that would *make God partaker in sin*.
No, t *thief is Satan*.
But I also think that *you can see* t *contrast between t Jesus & Satan* in this *V*.
*Satan* comes to *steal*, *Jesus* comes to *give*, *Satan* comes to *kill*, but *Jesus* comes to *give life*, *Satan* comes to *destroy*, but *Jesus* comes to *build us up* & *lift us* to heavenly places.
*I*.
In this *V* we *see God’s plan for* *His children*.
*A*.
He said, “I am come that they might have life, and that they might have /{it}/ more abundantly.”
*1*.
This word “*Abundantly*” means (in the *sense of beyond*); *superabundant* (in *quantity*) or *superior* (in *quality*); by implication, *preeminence*: *exceeding* *abundantly* *above, more abundantly, advantage, exceedingly, very highly, beyond measure*.”

*Jesus came* to *bring* us *this kind of life* in *all areas* of our life.

He wants us to have *PLENTY*.

In t book of (*DEUT*) it says, “And the Lord shall make thee plenteous in goods.”

In (*GAL 6:7*) it says, “Whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.”

That *V* can *apply* to *many* different *things*, but it *also means* that if a *man sows* his *money*, as seed, into t kingdom of God, *that is what he will reap*.

T word “*fatness*” means “*richness*” in other words it means t “*best*.”

T *Lord* will *give* you t *best of t Earth* if we will serve Him fully.

In t *OT* a *sign* of a *farmer* or a *herdsman* *being prosperous* was that their *barns* were *full*.

But there were some things they had to do in t natural.

They had to *know* *how to grow produce or raise cattle*, & then *God would bless* them above measure.

(*HOS 4:6*) Says “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge.”

That *V* is *talking about God’s Word*, but there is *also* a *practical side* to it.

If you’re going to raise cattle you *better have* t *knowledge* that *they need food & water*.

*Someone* might be *thinking*, Well, I *don’t have* t *ability* to *further* my *education*.

T Bible says that *you have t mind of Christ*, & that *you can do all things* through *Christ* which *strengtheneth* me.

Back to our message, *JOEL 2:23-26*.

These *Vs* here have a *double meaning*.
*a*.
*1st* it’s talking about an *outpouring of t H.S*.
                                      *b*.
But it *also* has *another meaning*.

*Those* that are *serving* t *Lord*, will have *restored* to them everything that t *Devil* had taken *stolen*.
*i*.
Then he says, “*Ye shall eat in plenty, and be satisfied*.”
......

He goes on to add that *my people shall never be ashamed*.

But there are *many* of God’s people that *feel ashamed* because they are *on welfare*.
You *shouldn’t feel that way* especially if it’s for medical reasons.

But God says that *as we trust in Him* we will *not be ashamed*, because He will *give us plenty*.
*II*.
*Poverty is not God’s will*.
*A*. (*GAL 3:13*) Says, Christ has redeemed us from t curse of t law.

Part of t *curse is poverty*, but *Jesus* has *redeemed* *us* from it.

In (*PSA 23:1*) David said, “T Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want.”

T word “*want*” means “*lack*.”

What David is trying to say is that *because* t *Lord* is *his shepherd*, *he will not lack any good thing*.

*It’s great to know* that t *Lord* *wants* *us to have* a *full supply, to prosper*, *but how* are we going to *get it*?
                   *A*. *PRO 13:22*
                             *1*.
That tells us that t *sinners have t wealth* & that *it’s ours*, but *how do we get it*?

Look at *DEUT 28:1-2, 13*

*How* are we going to *prosper*?

If we, “*Harken diligently unto t voice of t Lord*.
&

If we, *Observe & do all His commandments*.

There’s *2 main reasons* *why* *God wants us to prosper*;
                                      *a*.
*#1* Because *He loves us* & want to *give* us *only* His *best*, so that He can *establish His Covenant* w~/ us.
*b*.
& *#2* So that *through our giving more will hear about t Lord Jesus Christ*.
*3*.
*Money* is a *tool* & *an instrument to further t work of God* *around t world*.
Here *locally* *&* in t *utter most parts of t world*.
*C*. *God wants us to prosper*.
