CHRISTIANS ARE PROMISED VICTORY OVER DEATH, OVER SPIRITUAL DEATH, BUT WE'RE NOT TO JUST WAIT UNTIL WE DIE & DO NOTHING.
GOD HAS GIVEN US A JOB TO DO, BUT IF WE DON'T KNOW WHAT THAT JOB DESCRIPTION IS WE'RE NOT GOING TO DO THAT JOB VERY WELL.
SO WHAT IS IT THAT THE LORD WANTS US TO DO?
 
I.
DEPENDABILITY IS AN IMPORTANT PART IN OUR CHRISTIAN LIFE.
 
          A.
JAMES 5:12 ‑‑ JAMES IS TRYING TO TELL US THAT, IF WE SAY WE ARE GOING TO DO SOMETHING THEN WE SHOULD BE A MAN OR WOMAN OF OUR WORD.
IF YOU SAY YOUR GOING TO SOMETHING THEN YOU BETTER DO IT.
IF YOU CAN'T DO SOMETHING THEN DON'T SAY YOU WILL.
NO WONDER (PRO 6:2) SAYS, Thou art snared with the words of thy mouth, thou art taken with the words of thy mouth.

YOU CAN BE BROUGHT INTO BONDAGE BY THE WORDS YOU SPEAK.
THAT GOES FOR YOUR CONFESSION, YOUR CONFESSION OF FAITH, & YOUR PROMISES.

BEING DEPENDABLE IS IMPORTANT, NOT ONLY TO MAN BUT ALSO TO GOD.
IF YOU GAVE YOUR WORD & DON'T KEEP IT, IT'S A LIE.
`BUT YOU KNOW, THEY UNDERSTAND WHY I WASN'T THERE WHEN I SAID WHEN I SAID I WOULD, EVERYONE KNOWS HOW BUSY I AM.'
                   a. THEY MIGHT KNOW HOW BUSY YOU ARE & THEY MIGHT UNDERSTAND.
BUT IT'S STILL A LIE.
                   b. CAN MAN DEPEND ON YOU?
                   c. CAN GOD DEPEND ON YOU?
                   d. DON'T ALLOW YOURSELF TO GET TO A PLACE WHERE YOU SAY OR THINK `WELL, I'M JUST NOT GOING TO SAY ANYTHING SO I DON'T HAVE TO DO ANYTHING'.
THAT'S A WRONG ATTITUDE.
B.
IT'S NATURAL FOR CHRISTIANS TO FACE VALLEYS IN THEIR LIFE, BUT IT'S IMPORTANT THAT WE KEEP PUSHING ON, IN THE AREA OF DEPENDABILITY, & IN EVERY AREA THAT GOD HAS FOR US.
PAUL SAID IN (PHI4:3) help those women which laboured with me in the gospel, and my fellowlabourers, whose names {are} in the book of life.

1COR 9:24‑27 GOD WANTS US TO RUN THIS RACE TO WIN, TO STRIVE FOR THE PRIZE.
PAUL SAID NOT ALL ARE GOING TO WIN THIS PRIZE.
WE'VE GOT TO RUN TO WIN.

GOD WANTS HIS PEOPLE DEPENDABLE OR FAITHFUL ‑‑ FAITHFUL; IN PRAYER, BIBLE STUDY, CHURCH ATTENDANCE, EVEN FAITHFUL IN ATTENDANCE ON THE JOB.
                   a. YOU MIGHT BE & PROBABLY ARE IN GOD'S PERFECT WILL BY WORKING WHERE YOU ARE.
 
                   b.
NOT EVERYONE CAN GO INTO THE MINISTRY OR SHOULD...  MANY TIMES PEOPLE FELL THAT IF THEY COULD ONLY DO MORE FOR GOD THAT GOD WOULD BE HAPPY W~/ THEM.
SO THEY PICK THE MINISTRY TO DO TO MOST FOR GOD.
MANY OF THOSE PEOPLE QUIT THEIR WELL PAYING JOB & GO INTO THE MINISTRY & HAVE NO MONEY COMING IN, SO IT CAUSES PROBLEMS.
c. DON'T EVER FELL CONDEMNED BECAUSE YOUR WORKING A JOB & NOT IN THE MINISTRY.
d. JUST BE FAITHFUL TO GOD & DO THE MOST FOR HIM RIGHT WHERE YOU ARE.
 
          C.
(REV 2:10) SAYS THAT IF WE'RE FAITHFUL, YOU WILL RECEIVE THE CROWN OF LIFE.
II.
ANOTHER IMPORTANT PART OF THIS CHRISTIAN LIFE IS TO BE UNMOVABLE.
PAUL SAID IN (1CO 15:58) Therefore, my beloved brethren, be
unmoveable,
 
          A.
MAT 7:24‑25 [THE WORD `ROCK' IS THE GREEK WORD `PETRA' WHICH MEANS `A MASSIVE ROCK'] (1CO 10:4) SAYS, and that Rock was Christ.
 
               1.
WE NEED TO STAY FIRMLY PLANTED ON JESUS.
WHEN SITUATIONS GET ROUGH, MANY CHRISTIANS BEGIN TO WAVER, WHAT THEY DO IS THEY LOSE SIGHT OF THEIR SOURCE OF STRENGTH, & THAT IS THE LORD JESUS CHRIST.
 
               2.
IN THAT TIME OF WAVERING THEY BEGIN TO LACK DETERMINATION.
B.
PAUL ENCOURAGED CHRISTIANS TO BE UNMOVABLE WHEN IT COMES TO SERVING THE LORD.
 
          C.
WE MUST BE DETERMINED TO KEEP GOING REGARDLESS OF THE CIRCUMSTANCES.

III.
ANOTHER AREA OF IMPORTANCE IN THE CHRISTIAN LIFE IS IN THE AREA OF DILIGENCE.
THIS GOES ALONE W~/ DEPENDABILITY & FAITHFULNESS, BUT EVEN FURTHER.
 
          A.
(1CO 15:58) SAYS, always abounding in the work of the Lord.
THE WORD `ABOUNDING' MEANS, `BE IN EXCESS, SUPERABOUND OR EXCEL, BE MORE ABUNDANT, BE BETTER, EXCEED, INCREASE.'
 
               1.
TOO MANY TIMES WE BECOME SLOTHFUL CONCERNING WHAT THE LORD WANTS US TO DO.
 
               2.
WE FIND OTHER THINGS TO DO.
THINGS CONCERNING OURSELVES.
B.
GOD SHOULD HAVE 1ST PLACE IN OUR LIVES ‑‑ COL 1:10
 
IV.
IN OUR CHRISTIAN LIFE THERE  HAS TO BE A WILLINGNESS.
(ISA 1:19) If ye be willing and obedient, ye shall eat the good of the land:
 
          A.
IN (1CH 28:9) DAVID SAID, `And thou, Solomon my son, know thou the God of thy father, and serve him with a perfect heart and with a willing mind: for the Lord searcheth all hearts, and understandeth all the imaginations of the thoughts: if thou seek him, he will be found of thee; but if thou forsake him, he will cast thee off for ever.' NOT ONLY SHOULD WE BE WILLING & OBEDIENT, BUT WE SHOULD ALSO BE DELIGHTED TO DO HIS WILL.
(2Corinthians 9:6‑7) SAYS, (6) But this {I say}, He which soweth sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and he which soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully.
(7) Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, {so let him give}; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver.

GOD WANTS US DELIGHTED TO DO HIS WILL.
