Hello and welcome to the Daily Grind podcast the ministry of Faith Baptist Church to daily podcast Monday to Friday on our daily walk with Christ hosted by Steve and Andy bitsko myself. The items are going to be using today is the Logos Bible Software or your Bible as well as the 365 days of Spurgeon. We do utilize the KJV.

It's just not you don't have to just use the Logos Bible Software. You can use another or any other Bible app out there. And what is a Apple Store Google Play and you can download a Bible app. The only thing is if you wish to follow along with us if you want to make sure I'm sure it has that King James version or the KJV version if you want to use that as an Amazon, but I know it's a logo that one is definitely you have to do it. But you know the Logos Bible Software obviously, it's there. It's available. If it's at Lobos. It is ended free the 365 days of Spurgeon is not pretty good. That is entirely optional. I don't know how much it is.

It might be $100 book that baby. You don't want them to my house. So we will definitely look for it on today's message is a April 16th. And the title is quite simple as Christ Our substitute in the Charles spurgeon's that 365 days of Spurgeon.

Our first passage of scripture is Isaiah 53 chapter 53 in verses 10 through 12. Feel free to pause the podcast for a couple of moments while you find find the passage in Isaiah chapter number 53 and verses 10 through 12 yet it pleased the Lord to bruise him. He has put him to grief. When did Donald Trump make his soul in offering for sin? He shall see his see he shall prolong his days and the pleasure of the Lord shall prosper in his hand. He shows he shall see the travail and she'll be satisfied by his knowledge. Shall my righteous servant justify many for he shall bear their iniquities. Therefore will I divided them a portion with the great and he shall divide the spoil with the strong because he has four out of stolen the death and he was numbered with the transgressors and the bear the sins of many and made intercession for the transgressors. Very good. Andy has Isaiah 53 verses 10 through 12 and continue with the second reading 2nd Corinthians chapter and verse number 21. Feel free to pause while you find that and the chapter number 5 and verse number 21 for he has made him to be sin for us who knew? No sin that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.

And we are currently getting the text for today up on our computer. Please bear with us a moment.

The title is Chrysler substitute a sermon delivered on Saturday evening, April 15th, 1865 the Reverend Charles Spurgeon at New Park Street Chapel in South work. We just have to learn another valuable lesson here in the podcast and ruled you don't eat ham while you're doing a podcast talking about it like it's hot sauce. And it was on my laptop and so I will go ahead and begin reading our text for today.

And we are right here.

All right. I got Facebook notifications all over the text beginning. Christ Our substitute and no sense. He is ever a guilty man, but always he is an accepted and holy in the Holy One. What then is the meaning of that very forceful expression of my texts? We must interpret scriptural modes of expression by the words of the speakers. We know that our Master once said himself this cup is the New Covenant in my blood.

Spruce and he did not mean that the cup was the Covenant he said Take eat. This is my body. None of us can see is that the bread is literally the flesh and blood of Christ. We take that bread as if it were the body and it and it actually represented now, we are to read the passage like this. according to the analogy of faith Jesus Christ was made by his father's sin for us. That is he was treated as if he had himself been send. He was not sin. He was not sinful. He was not guilty, but he was treated by his father as if he had not only been sinful that if he had been sin itself.

What is the strongest Russian used here not only has he made him to be the substitute for sin, but to Beeson. God looked on Christ as if Christ had been sin not as if he had taken up the sins of his people or as if they were laid on him though that were true as if if himself had positively been to Max's that God hating that sold damning thing called Sid. When the judge of all the Earth said where is sin? Christ presented himself He stood before his father as if he had been the accumulation of all human guilt as if he himself wear that thing which God cannot endure but which he must drive from his presence forever. aspersion here speaking.

Don't like how we literally don't take the understanding in the literal understanding that. You know when Christ said take my cup is a New Covenant in my blood mean that's literally not his blood and when you say I take it, this is my body literally did not saying. Take a piece of my body when it is there's a representation that's taking place. in Spurgeon drawing it to the point of No price. He wasn't The Sinner. He was so much as he was.

but US Senate self

so does regarded Christ crucified just as if he were sin and not his son.

Surprised being arson and let's talk about that are past our present our future sin. Not just for me. Before everyone. Okay. So everyone's a center for all come short of the glory of God for everyone's a sinner but the wages of sin is death. But the gift of God is eternal life. We have those sins and that's in was Jesus when he died on the cross. That's everyone sins past present future sins. And when he died on the cross.

So when Christ died on the cross?

We have to understand that our sins were forgiven.

Now this is something that we've kind of touched yesterday on salvation. And I'm going to repeat it again with this title or with this message.

first we have to realize that we're assuming

they were not perfect. That no one is perfect. Except Jesus. And realizing that were thinner we have to realize that price himself. Was the perfect sacrifice? for our sins

He took it upon himself as being the only perfect man to ever walk upon this Earth. To come down upon this Earth. And he died on the cross for our sins.

And by him dying dying on that cross to a complete death, he was buried. in the tune and he rose again on the third day, which we just separate celebrated last Sunday called Resurrection Sunday or Easter.

But that's by him dying on the cross.

It allows us to know that the substitutionary atonement is the key which enables the Christian that's us to make us of the description just as if I never sent him down on that cross we can literally stand here today just as if I never send now, let's take it a step further. So if looking down upon us, okay, because obviously I don't know about you Andy, but I mean if our sins are forgiven by by God, okay. God looks down upon us as not being Sinners and he sees in Jesus Christ. Okay. So if I pick if I can give you the word picture here.

There's God and then there's a sauna and then between God and between God and Jesus. So God looks down and sees Jesus and then Jesus on down to ISO. God looks down to Jesus which takes away our sins. Okay, which our sins are forgiven and through that glass if I could use that that Carradine death through Jesus is paradyne. He sees us which were similar that we've never said. So as a Christian is a forgiving God looks at us God sees a sinless person.

with that are also want to bring us to the point to Ephesians chapter 1 verse 7 on ticket step further and whom we have Redemption through his blood the Forgiveness of sins according to the riches of his grace see that blood of Christ mean that perfect sacrifice for us for sin that Redemption Okay. That Redemption is best illustrated by this by this quote here says crises has neither by the mere exercise of power nor by his Doctrine nor by his example nor by the moral influence and you can read this on your screen if you're in front of your phone or your computer tablets, which he exerted nor by any subjective influence on his people. Whether natural or mystical but as a satisfaction to Divine justice as an as an expiation for sin, and as a ransom from The Cure's in authority of the law does reconciling us to God by making a concept Concept in constant consistent with his Perfection to exercise Mercy towards Center C.

He when Christ became a singer when he died on that cross to give us that Redemption that Redemption of nothing Redemption of a forgiveness and he took it and put us into that category of being sinless as being Christian does being a believer. And I insured you today. If you have never accepted Jesus Christ as your savior and maybe from this message.

You come to the realization. Yeah, I'm a sinner. I would like to get my sins forgiven. I would like to accept Jesus Christ as my personal Savior and believe in the Bible says mouth leaving my heart. You shall be saved. I encourage you to
