Today were going to have our second healing service that God directed me to have.
Probably about a year ago the Lord spoke to my heart and told me to have healing services.
Last month we started our first healing service and were going to continue to have them about once a month or ones every six weeks.
*I) *Last time we said that God healed the sick in the Old Testament, and he is an unchangeable God.
*A) *In (Exodus 15:26) it says, “If thou wilt diligently hearken unto the voice of the Lord thy God, and wilt do that which is right in his sight, and wilt give ear to his commandments, and keep all his statutes, I will put none of these diseases upon thee, which I have brought upon the Egyptians: for I am the Lord that healeth thee.”
*1) *And again in (Exodus chapter 23 verse 25) it says, “And ye shall serve the LORD your God, and he shall bless thy bread, and thy water; and I will take sickness away from the midst of thee.”
*a) *And (Psalms 103:3) says, “Who forgiveth all buying iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases.”
*b) *God is still forgiving sins, and he is still healing diseases.
*c) *(Malachi 3:6) says, “For I am the Lord, I change not.”
*(i) *In the New Testament, Paul said in (Hebrews 13:8) “Jesus Christ the same yesterday, today, and forever.”
*B) *Some will try to tell you that healing is not in the Bible, so we have to go to the Bible to find out what God says and not what man says.
*II) *Turn with me to *Isaiah 53:4*
*A) *If you look up the words “GRIEFS” and the Word “SORROWS” in a concordance it will tell you the words should be translated “SICKNESSES” and “PAINS.”
*1) *In other words it should be translated, “Surely he hath borne our SICKNESSES, and carried our SORROWS.”
*a) *If you really get into studying this verse out you’ll find that this verse is talking about Jesus atoning for our sins, but it also refers to Jesus providing healing for our bodies.
*2) *The Young’s translation, who by the way is also of the author of the Young’s concordance, quotes (Isaiah 53:4) like this, “Surely our sicknesses he hath borne, and our pains he hath carried them.”
*a) *Another translation says, “But only our disease did he bear himself, and our pains he carried.”
*III) *Turn with me to the book of *Matthew chapter 8*.
*A) *As we read a couple Vs. hear in Matthew, listened to Matthew’s comments and how he quotes (Isaiah 53: 4).
*B) **Matthew 8:16-17*
*1) *I was reading after one Greek scholar that said, “Matthew 8:17 is in the Aorist tense.
The Aorist tense generally refers to “CONTINUOUS ACTION.”
*a) *In other words, it means that Jesus Christ pay for our sins and our sicknesses, yesterday, today, and forever.
*C) *(*Deuteronomy 7:15*) says, “The Lord will take away from the all sickness.”
*1) *(*MARK 16:16-18*) says, “He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned and these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name they shall cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; they shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.”
