We’re going to continue on the subject of healing from the Word of God.

     I. If salvation is for all, than healing is for.

              A. We are never in doubt to God’s willingness to save, But the wordSAVED” in our bibles means more than salvation, it also means “healing.”

              B. The Lord Jesus Christ paid for our spirit, soul, and body. Paid, that we would be whole, spirit, soul, and body.

                        1. I’m just going to touch on the soul for a second.

                                  a. Turn to HEB 10:39, “But we are not of them who draw back unto perdition; but of them that believe to the saving of the soul.” (KJV)

                                  b. Usually when we’re talking about our soul we’re referring to (ROM 12:2) which tells us to “Renew our minds.”

                                           i. We take that to mean, “Renew our minds to the Word of God.”

ii. Which it does, but what does the Word produce? “Faith.”

                                  c. It’s faith or believing that is going to renew our minds.

                                           i. Notice Heb 10:39 again.

ii. Notice that last partbelieve (or literally, “Have faith”) to the saving of the soul.”

                                  d. The word “Saving” in this V is interesting, it means, “Preserving or Preservation.”

                                           i. Faith, which only comes by hearing the Word of God will bring healing and preservation to our minds.

                                  e. Keep on believing and your soul or mind will be saved and healed.

                        2. 1COR 6:19-20

                                  a. Our bodies as well as our spirit have been bought with a price.

                                  b. It’s just as true that our bodies are made whole, as it is that our spirits are made whole.

                                           i. Salvation is for the spirit as well as the body.

                        3. MARK 2:5-12

                                  a. Go back to V 9 Now this is kind of a trick question. Which is greater? Neither, it goes hand in hand.

                                           i. Now look at V 10

ii. What does healing have to do with having your sins forgiven or salvation? Everything.

                                  b. When you receive salvation, healing is also yours. It’s no wonder that Jesus said to the sick of the palsy, “Son, thy sins be forgiven thee. Arise, take up thy bed.”

                                  c. Salvation and healing for the body are both equally provided for in this New Covenant.

                        4. Just a moment ago I said that “salvationmeanshealing.” It comes from the Greek word sozo. The translators of your bible knew that. Let’s just look at a few of those references and Listen to how they translated it.

                                 a. MARK 5:23  HEALED

                                  b. MARK 16:16   SAVED

                        5. If you’re sick, our Savior is your Healer. If you’re lost, our Healer is your Savior.

     II. JOHN 15:16

              A. According to this scripture we have a right to ask the Father for healing, in the name of Jesus, and to receive it.

                        1. Not only do we have a right to ask but we should be asking.

                                  a. JOHN 15:7

                                  b. The Wuest translation says, “If you maintain a living communion with me and my Words are at home in you, I command you to ask, at once, something for yourself, whatever your heart desires, and it will become yours.” (JOHN 15:7)

                                  c. If we believe God’s Word we can ask, in Jesus’ name, and receive what we ask for.

              B. (1JOHN 5:14) says that “If we ask any thing according to his will”. From studying the subject of healing, we have found out that healing for all is God’s will.

                        1. If you’re suffering from sickness, you have a right to ask the Father for healing, and should ask Him.

                        2. MARK 11:24 Notice it says, “when you pray”.

                                  a. How are we supposed to pray?

                                  b. Jesus said, to the Father in my name.

                                  c. We pray to the Father in the name of Jesus.

                        3. There is power in the name of Jesus. PHIL 2:9-11

                                  a. Notice that He says, “Every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth, at the name of Jesus.”

                                  c. In “heaven” are the angels and all the heavenly host, in “earth” are men, and “things under the earth” are demons.

                                  b. All must bow to the Name of Jesus.

                        4. Smith Wigglesworth tells of ministering to a man who was dying from T B. He said all they did was to repeat over and over the Name of Jesus. The glory of God filled that room and the man was healed, perfectly whole.

                                  a. Sickness had to bow to the name of Jesus.

                        5. Look with me to ACTS 3: 1-9

                                  a. Notice in (V 6) Peter said, “In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk.” (KJV)

                                  b. There’s healing in the name of Jesus.

                        6. Paul said to a demon in (ACT 16:18) “I command thee in the name of Jesus Christ to come out of her.” And he came out.

                                  a. There’s deliverance in the name of Jesus.

              C. Jesus left his name with us. We have the right to use it. Satan must respect that Name which is above every name, and his entire kingdom must obey our command when given in the Name of Jesus.

                        1. Of course as long as it’s in line with the will of God.

                        2. In (LUKE 10:17) the disciples said, “Even the devils are subject unto us through thy name.” (Through the name of Jesus.)

                        3. It was Jesus who conquered sin, Satan, disease, death, hell, and the grave; and we have a legal right to use that name.

                        4. ACTS 2:38

                                  a. There’s salvation in the Name of Jesus.

                                  b. The possibilities involved in the name of Jesus are beyond our understanding.

                                  c. When Jesus said, “Whatsoever ye ask the Father in My Name,” He was giving us a signed check on the resources of heaven.

                        5. If you need healing, find out what the Word of God says, so that you can receive what is in the name of Jesus.

                                  a. There’s healing in the Name, there’s deliverance in the Name, there’s safety in the Name, there’s prosperity in the Name, there’s salvation in the Name, there’s power in the Name.

                                  b. In (MATT 28:18) it says, “And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.”

                                           i. That word “Power” there is the Greek word “exousia” which means “authority, jurisdiction.”

ii. Some say, “Oh, that doesn’t mean Power?”

iii. If you have the Authority to do something then you have the Power to back it up.

                                           iv. Look at MARK 16:15-18

                                                     a. Jesus has given us His Name to use, and there’s Power in that name.

                                  b. According to (JOHN 15:16) Jesus is saying, “If you ask the Father in My Name, I will endorse that petition, and the Father will give you anything I have endorsed.”

III. JOHN 11:41 (This is talking about Lazarus)

              A. We know that the Father always hears Jesus, and when we pray in Jesus’ Name, it’s as though Jesus himself were doing the praying.

                        1. If you need healing, you can ask the Father for it, in Jesus’ Name, believe that He hears you, and you will find your sickness leave.

                                  a. WHY?

                        2. 1JOHN 5:14-15

                                  a. It’s yours. You have a right to it.

                                  b. Ask him for it and receive your health, in the Name of Jesus.

                        c. (JOH 16:23-24) Says, “And in that day ye shall ask me nothing. Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my name, he will give {it} you. (24) Hitherto have ye asked nothing in my name: ask, and ye shall receive, that your joy may be full.” (KJV)

                        3. If you need healing, you can ask the Father for it, in the Name of Jesus, and you shall receive your healing, so that your joy may be full.

                                  a. Peter took Jesus at His Word, and said to the lame man, In the Name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk.

                                  b. THAT NAME HAS NEVER LOST ITS POWER.

              B. People are saved through that NAME.

                        1. (ACT 4:12) Says, “Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.”

                        2. You can pray and make your petitions to the Father in that NAME.

                        3. In that NAME the lame, impotent, and helpless were healed and made to walk again.

                        4. Jesus said, In (MAR 16:17), “In my NAME shall they cast out devils.”

                                  a. Paul proved that, Paul said to an evil spirit, In (ACT 16:18), “I command thee in the name of Jesus Christ to come out of her. And he came out the same hour.” (KJV)

              C. What power that NAME has for the Church.

                        1. According to (COL 3:17), we’re taught: “Whatsoever ye do in word or deed, {do} all in the name of the Lord Jesus.”

                        2. In (EPH 5:20) It says, “Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.”

                                  a. We are to be giving thanks for all things unto in the name Jesus.

                        3. In (HEB 13:15) we’re told to offer the sacrifice of praise to his name. (KJV)

                        4. In (JAMES 5:14) We’re instructed to anoint the sick with oil in the name of the Lord: (KJV)

                        5. In (1JOHN 3:23) We’re informed: This is his commandment, That we should believe on the name of his Son Jesus Christ.

                        6. THE NAME of JESUS touches every phase of the Christian life and it will never lose it’s power.
