Faith is never born through sympathy. Faith is never born through our pity. Faith is never born through our discussing with people their pains and aches, weakness and sicknesses.

    I. Faith comes by hearing the Word of God.

            A. I like to put it this way, Faith comes by hearing and hearing and hearing & hearing.

                    1. The more you hear it, the more you will cause your faith to grow.

                            a. You might be thinking, Well, I already have faith to be healed.

                            b. That might be true, but for you to keep on having faith to be healed, you must stay in the Word of God.

                                    i. Sometimes people get high-minded about this saying they have faith and think that they heard all there is on the subject of healing.

ii. This is the group that has just opened the door for sickness.

                    2. HEB 2:1 Says, “Therefore we ought to give the more earnest heed to the things which we have heard, lest at any time we should let {them} slip.” (KJV) (See note on the word

                            a. Paul is saying that it's possible to let things slip.

                    3. (2PE 1:12) Says, “Wherefore I will not be negligent to put you always in remembrance of these things, though ye know {them}, and be established in the present truth.”

                            a. I like to read both these Vs. together (HEB 2:1) “Therefore we ought to give the more earnest heed to the things which we have heard, lest at any time we should let {them} slip. ”

(2PE 1:12) “Wherefore I will not be negligent to put you always in remembrance of these things, though ye know {them}, and be established in the present truth.”

                            b. Peter's saying that he will put them in remembrance of the things they have already learned.

                            c. (V. 13) Goes on to Say “Yea, I think it meet, as long as I am in this tabernacle, to stir you up by putting {you} in remembrance;”

                            d. We need to go over things, even though you may know them. That's the only way you're going to stay in faith.

                            e. You never know when an attach of the enemy is coming, so you need to remain in faith.

                            f. Faith is born when we hear the Word of God.

            B. JOHN 8:32

                    1. The word “KNOW” means “full knowledge of.” I'm not saying that we have to have knowledge of every healing scripture.

                    2. But you do have to have a full knowledge or a clear understanding that it is God’s will for you to be healed.

                            a. In other words you have to know in your heart that it is God's will to heal you. We sometimes call that a revelation. You need to have that revelation in your heart. When you do, faith will also be there.

                                    i. A revelation only comes by hearing the Word and faith comes by hearing the Word.

II. If we want to see people delivered from the bondage of sickness and disease, we must teach them the part of God's Word that sets them free from disease.

            A. The part that says (ISA 53:5) “But he {was} wounded for our transgressions, {he was} bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace {was} upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.” (KJV)

                    1. (1PE 2:24) “Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.” (KJV)

                    2. Someone will always ask, “Why don't more people get healed?”

                            a. Because of a lack of teaching and preaching of this truth.

                            b. Sometimes you only get one word and you have faith that will meet the need.

                            c. Other times, We need to keep on hearing and hearing until you know that you know your healed.

            B. In my own life, It took me some where in the middle of my 8 week course, called Christ the Healer, to get the revelation that healing was mine.

                    1. Not just knowing it in my head. I knew it in my head long before that. But I had to get the revelation in my heart.

                            a. Now about 2 or 3 months ago I got sick with a cold that would not go away.

                            b. What did I need to do? Get into the Word on the subject of healing and start confession that by Jesus stripes we are healed.

                    2. MATT. 9:29

                            a. JAMES says in (JAM 1:6) “But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering.”

                            b. We need to declare war on every form of sickness and take our authority over every form of demonic power, through the name of Jesus.

III. If salvation is for all, than healing is for.

            A. We are never in doubt to God's willingness to save, But t word “SAVED” in our bibles means more than salvation, it also means “healing.”

            B. The Lord Jesus Christ paid for our spirit, soul, and body. Paid, that we would be whole, spirit, soul, and body.

                    1. I'm just going to touch on the soul for a second.

                            a. Turn to HEB 10:39, “But we are not of them who draw back unto perdition; but of them that believe to the saving of the soul.” (KJV)

                            b. Usually when we’re talking about our soul we’re referring to (ROM 12:2) which tells us to “Renew our minds.”

                                    i. We take that to mean, “Renew our minds to the Word of God.”

ii. Which it does, but what does the Word produce? “Faith.”

                            c. It’s faith or believing that is going to renew our minds.

                                    i. Notice Heb 10:39 again.

ii. Notice that last part “believe (or literally, “Have faith”) to the saving of the soul.”

                            d. The word “Saving” in this V is interesting, it means, “Preserving or Preservation.”

                                    i. Faith, which only comes by hearing the Word of God will bring healing and preservation to our minds.

                            a. Keep on believing and your soul or mind will be saved and healed.

                    2. 1COR 6:19-20

                            a. Our bodies as well as our spirit have been bought with a price.

                            b. It's just as true that our bodies are made whole, as it is that our spirits are made whole.

                                    i. Salvation is for the spirit as well as the body.

                    3. MARK 2:5-12

                            a. Go back to V 9 Now this is kind of a trick question. Which is greater? Neither, it goes hand in hand.

                                    i. Now look at V 10

ii. What does healing have to do with having your sins forgiven or salvation? Everything.

                            b. When you receive salvation, healing is also yours. It's no wonder that Jesus said to the sick of the palsy, “Son, thy sins be forgiven thee. Arise, take up thy bed.”

                            c. Salvation and healing for the body are both equally provided for in this New Covenant.

                    4. Just a moment ago I said that “salvationmeanshealing.” It comes from the Greek word sozo. The translators of your bible knew that. Let’s just look at a few of those references and Listen to how they translated it.

                            a. MARK 5:23  HEALED

                            b. MARK 16:16   SAVED

                            c. Mark 5:34   Made Whole

                            d. ROM 10:13   Saved

(LUKE 8:36   HEALED); (ACTS 2:21   SAVED); (ACTS 14:9   HEALED); (EPH 2:8  SAVED); (MARK 5:34   MADE WHOLE); (LUKE 18:42   SAVED); (MARK 5:28   BE WHOLE); (ACTS 4:12   SAVED);   (LUKE 17:19  WHOLE); (ROM 10:9   SAVED); (MARK 6:56   MADE WHOLE); (JAMES 5:15   SAVE); (ACTS 4:9   WHOLE).

                    5. If you're sick, our Savior is your Healer. If you're lost, our Healer is your Savior.
