Amen I say to you, today you will be with me in Paradise
Last Words of Jesus

St. Ambrose, Archbishop of Milan 4th century wrote: “to be with Christ is life, and where Christ is, there is his kingdom.”
This thief on the last day of his life come to faith in Jesus Christ confessed his guilt and was saved. He hears these precious words from the breath Jesus, “ Amen I say to you, today you will be with me in Paradise.” The comma “,” between the words “ you” and today” added by the translators is significant for us today, how do we read and hear these precious last words of Jesus on the Cross, on this side of eternity, after that horrific crucifixion, called Good Friday, and after Jesus’s Resurrection on Easter Sunday. You see, if the comma is removed, we can hear Jesus say to us every day, “Amen I say to you today you will be with me in Paradise”, and “to be with Christ is life, and where Christ is, there is his kingdom” today.
