Turn with me to LUKE 12:32. Jesus said that it is the Father’s will to give you the kingdom. Our Heavenly Father wants to give you the very best. Giving you the kingdom means that He wants you to reign as kings.

    I. ROM 5:17

             A. As we are serving the Lord, God the Father wants us to reign.

                        1. There is only 1 way that we are to reign and that is by (or as the NIV says, “through”) Jesus Christ.

             B. (2 Corinthians 2:14) “Now thanks [be] unto God, which always causeth us to triumph in Christ.”

II. There are some WRONG THOUGHTS and ATTITUDES about God. Wrong ideas about His will for us.

             A. Some have the idea that God desires to punish sinners immediately.

                        1. 2 PET 3:9

                                a. It’s through God’s patience that sinners are lead to repentance.

                                b. Look at 2 PET 3:15

                                          i. The NIV says of (2 Peter 3:15), “Bear in mind that our Lord’s patience means salvation”

                                c. In (1PET 3:20) it tells us that God was patient in the days of Noah, while he built the Ark, so that just 8 souls would be saved. (100 yr. to build the ark)

             B. Some have the idea that God is the cause DISASTERS, and TRAGEDIES so that people will come to Him.

                        1. ROM 2:4

                                a. It’s the goodness of God that brings people to the Lord.

                                b. God’s not sitting in heaven, waiting for you to get to a certain place so that He can hit you over the head and knock you down.

                                          i. It’s unfortunate that many think of God in this way.

ii. But God is not an abuser of His children.

                        2. (1JOHN 4:7) Says, “God is love.”

                                a. (John 16:27) Says, “The Father himself loveth you.”

                                          i. God is merciful to his children.

                                b. PSA 103:1-5

                                          i. (Psalm 119:156) “Great [are] thy tender mercies, O LORD.”

             C. Some have clamed that God brings sickness or disease upon His people to teach them something or even to develop their character.

                        1. But (JOHN 10:10) Says, That it is the thief (Satan) who comes to steel, kill and to destroy.

                                a. Sickness is part of Satan’s work.

                                b. That same V says that Jesus came to give life and to give it more abundantly.

                                c. MATT 10:1

                                          i. It’s God’s will for you to be healed.

ii. If you’re not sick, then it’s his will for you to have divine health. (Free form sickness)

             D. Some have thought that DIVORCE and SIN disqualifies people from Christian service.

                        1. Divorce is not the unpardonable sin.

                                a. MATT 12:31

                                          i. Jesus said that all manner of sin shall be forgiven you.

                                b. But somebody always asks about Blasphemy of the HS. and they wonder if they have committed this unpardonable sin. (The only unpardonable sin.)

                                          i. HEB 6:1-6

ii. Here Paul is saying that it is impossible for this group of people to come back to the Lord. But what group of people are we talking about?

                                                   a. 1st of all it’s those that were once enlightened and have tasted the heavenly gift. THAT’S TALKING ABOUT SALVATION.

                                                   b. 2nd it those were also partakers of the Holy Ghost. That is talking about being filled with the HS.

                                                   c. 3rd They have tasted the good word of God.

                                                   d. And 4th they also have tasted of the powers of the world to come. This is the gifts of the spirit.

iii. Let me read Vs 4 and 5 to you from the Phillips translation.

a.When you find men who have been enlightened, who have tasted the heavenly gift and received the HS, who have known the wholesome nourishment of the Word of God and touched the spiritual resources of the eternal world.”

                                                   b. This is the person that has known God and has said in their heart that they never want to have anything to do with God again.

                        2. Well, Weather it’s divorce or any other sin, we have (1JOHN 1:9) which tells us “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us {our} sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”

                                a. If you confess your sins to God and turn away from those things then they’re gone, just if you never sinned.

              D. Some even have the idea that God is indifferent about the hurts of people

                        1. HEB 4:15

                        2. Jesus does feel what we are going through, He knows those hurts that we have.

                                a. (1PET 5:7 AMP) Says, “Casting the whole of your cares- all your anxieties, all your worries, all your concerns, once and for all - on Him; for He cares for you affectionately, and cares about you watchfully.”

                                b. God feels all your hurts, and He’s reaching His hand out to help, but you need to trust Him with all your heart, put your faith and trust in Him.

III. We’ve been talking about some of the wrong ideas about God, but what are some of the RIGHT thoughts and ideas about God.

             A. In looking at some of the wrong ideas, we talked about the Right ideas; Like;

                        1. The Lord Jesus Christ does care about the things that your are going through.

                        2. and That if you do repent from sin God has restored you totally. He chooses not to remember them.

                        3. We also found out that Jesus came to give us that “Abundant life."

                                a. and that by His strips we are healed.

                        4. We also looked at the patience of God.

                                a. The patience of God leads people to repentance.

                                b. That even goes for us.

                                          i. God is still patient with us who know better. Just so that we would repent God is patient.

             B. Let’s look at another right attitude about God. LUKE 9:56

                        1. Jesus didn’t come to destroy but to save.

                                a. 6 or 7 times in the Word it says that God is slow to anger.

             C. Look at JOHN 3:17

                        1. Some have the idea that God has come to condemn them.

                                a. But God sent Jesus not to condemn, but to save.

                        2. (ROM 8:1) Says, “{There is} therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.”

                                a. If anyone is condemning you, it’s either you or it’s the accuser of the brethren, which is Satan.

                                b. God will convict someone of sin, and you will fell that conviction so that you will repent. (JOHN 16:8)

              D. Another area of right ideas 3JOHN 2

                        1. God wants you to prosper.

                        2. 2COR 8:9

a.Rich” means “full supply.” Not lacking anything.

              E. Look with me to one last scripture. ACTS 10:38

                        1.Jesus went about doing good.”

                        2. (JAMES 1:17) says that “Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights.”

                                a. God comes to you with good, He gives you the best.

                                b. God’s will for you is good.
