We’re going to continue on the book of Galatians, so let’s pick up right where we left off.

I) Turn with me to GAL 5:6

A) Circumcision is done on the outward man, but faith is an action that takes place on the inner man.

1) Men always look to the outward, and so many times they are wrong or deceived by what they see.

(a) For the last few weeks I’ve been teaching on that exact thing.

(b) Sometimes we see someone and think that they are in pride, but in actuality they are just confident in the things of God.

(i) On the other hand someone may seem to be humble, but in their heart they are lifted up in pride.

(ii) Sometimes there are signs that we can see on the outside that will give us an indication to what’s in the heart.

(iii) Usually the words that come out of their mouth will give them away.

(a) But those that have been in Word Churches for a while learn what to say and what not to say, but Jesus told us in (Matthew 12:34) “Out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh.” KJV

(b) When someone is confronted with a negative report, correction, or something done wrong to them, usually their words will then show where they are spiritually.

(c) But it’s not for us to judge that person. None of us are perfect. We’ve all missed it. The best thing to do is pray for them.

(c) But God sees the heart.

B) Back in (GAL 5:6) Paul says the thing that does matter or have value to it is FAITH.

1) (Hebrews 11:6) SaysBut without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.” KJV

(a) We can’t even please God without faith, but to take it even 1 step further, we can’t even receive from God without faith.

(i) (HEB 6:12) tells us that it’s “Through faith and patience that we’ll inherit the promises of God.”

(ii) Even when we come to Church we want to see the move of the Spirit of God and the Glory of God; we want to see people healed and set free, but it’s not going to come unless we are believing God for it to happen. That means expect God to move.

2) Can I meddle a little more? Sometimes people will get an idea that the Church should be doing something different, that we should be doing this or that.

(a) I’m always open to suggestions, but I have to hear from God before I can implement them.

(i) Even if you know that you heard from God, the timing may not be right.

(ii) Pray for me. As the pastor of this church it’s God’s responsibility to show me what He wants.

(b) If I put anything into operation without having God’s Word on it then it’s a work of the flesh with no value to it.

(i) Now if God does speak to me, then as I step out on his Word in faith it will produce fruit.

3) We always want God’s best for our lives, but in order to have that we need to be in divine order.

(a) If you’re working in the church in some area, you need to be in submission to the department head, the department needs to be in submission to the pastor, and the Pastor needs to be in submission to God.

(b) Even in the services, Just because you feel that something should be done, it might not be for everyone. It might be just for you.

4) If you feel that there is something that we all need to do in the service, you need to come to me 1st.

(a) Other wise things can and will get out of hand and it will lead to confusion.

(b) Let me give you some scripture on that. Turn with me to 1COR 14:26-27

(i) From (V 27) we can see that Paul is talking about Prophecy, but he’s also talking about more than that.

(ii) Look at 1COR 14:26 again. {Revelation- that refers to just about anything.}

(iii) In (V 27) Paul also talks about limitations. In other words, it’s not a free for all.

(c) Alright drop down to 1COR 14:32

(i) This V has seemed to confuse many, but it simply means that the 1 that is in charge of the service has the final say so on what is to go forth in the service.

(ii) The AMP translation says this (1COR 14:32) “For the spirits of the prophets (that’s the 1 the that has a word or a revelation) are under the speaker’s control [and subject to being silenced as may be necessary].”

(d) Look at 1COR 14:33 drop down to V 40

5) Let me try to some up what I’m trying to say.

(a) If you have a tongue, an interruption of that tongue, or a prophecy from God for this body and it brings edification, exhortation, or comfort give it, as long as it’s in the right timing. Using proper etiquette.

(i) What happens if you can’t get to me? Maybe you’re stuck in the middle of an isle.

(ii) If you can’t get to me where you can share it with me one on one then you need to keep it to yourself.

(iii) If it is God He will provide a way for you to come up to me quietly.

(c) I’m I trying to stop the move of God? No not at all, but I’m trying to stop the flesh from moving or things that God is speaking to you personally, and only have the true move of the Spirit of God in the Church.

II) Paul said in (GAL 5:6) that the things of the fleshAvaileth nothing,” but what does avail is faith.

A) The word “AVAILmeans, “To have power.” And faith is only based on the Word of God.

1) As we put God’s Word to practice, (in reference to what we just read in 1COR 14) and we put faith in His Word, we’re going to see less of the flesh and more of the Power of God.

(a) Next week we’ll get more into the last ½ of this V which says, “Faith which worketh by love.”
