Sermon Tone Analysis

So many times, *we face **adverse situation*, *weather* it’s a *direct* *attack* of the *enemy* *or* it’s *something else*.

*We **need* to *get the victory*.

*God never intended for us to walk in defeat.*

*God's plan** is for us to **live** a **victorious life.*

I’m *not saying* that *life* is *going to be a bed of roses*, and *everything* is going to be *perfect*.

*There are* going to be *attacks* of the enemy *and* there are going to be those *things* that *happen*, *but we can have* the *victory over them all.*

I.        If we’re living right and living for God, 1 of the most important things we can do is to walk by faith.

!! A.  (2 Corinthians 5:7) Tells us, “(For we walk by faith, not by sight:)”.

!!! 1.   Turn to /1JOHN 5:4/.

!!!! a)    Kenneth Wuest Translation says, “(The believer) is constantly coming off victorious over the world.

And this is the victory that has come off victorious over the world, our faith.

Who is he who is constantly coming off victorious over the world but the one who believes that Jesus is the Son of God?” *[1]* (V.

4-5)

!!!! b)    The Weymouth translation says, "For every child of God overcomes the world; and the victorious principle which has overcome the world is our faith.”*[2]*

!!!! c)     The word “overcomes, or overcometh” in this V means, “overcome, conquer, prevail, and get the victory.”*[3]*

!!!! d)    And the word “World” κόσμος [/kosmos/ ~/kos·mos~/] means “the world, the universe, the circle of the earth, the earth, the inhabitants of the earth, men, the human race, the ungodly multitude, the whole mass of men alienated from God, world affairs, the whole circle of earthly goods, endowments, riches, advantages, pleasures, etc.” *[4]*

!!!! e)   In other words this V is saying that “it is our faith that is enabling us to conquer the world” or have victory over all that the world throws at us.

!!!!! (1)  Victorious over all the demons and demon activity.

!!!!! (2)   Victory over all the ungodly, and victory over our finances.

!! B.   (1JOHN 5:4) told us that it is through our faith that we have VICTORY.

But there is more to it than that.

!!!! a)     We are instructed by God to live by faith.

!!!!! (1)   (Romans 1:17) Says, “The just shall live by faith.”

!!!! b)    Look at /HEB 11:6/ “But without faith [it is] impossible to please [him]: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and [that] he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.”

!!!! c)     This is more of a commandment that we walk by faith.

!!!!! (1)   Can’t please Him without it.

!!!!! (2)  That means, all of our good works don’t please Him without it being done by faith.

!!!!! (3)   I’m not saying, “Don’t do good works.”

I’m saysing, do them in faith.

II.

/ROM 12:1-3/.

(the measure of faith.)

!! A.  V2 “conformed and transformed” Present Imperative denotes Continuous action 

!! B.   Sometimes people feel that God has given a large portion of faith to the Kenneth Hagin’s and Kenneth Copeland’s, but a little portion to them.

!!! 1.    Peter said (Acts 10:34) “that God is no respecter of persons.”

!!! 2.   He gives ever person the same measure of faith.

!!!! a)    There is a gift of the spirit that is a special gift of faith, but that’s not really for a private individual.

!!!!! (1)   God has given us all the same measure of faith.

!!! 3.   Look at (Mark 11:12-14, 20-22)/Mark 11:22/.

!!!! a)    Once again we have the present imperative verb (mood), which means Continuous Action.

!!!! b)     The KJV says, “Have faith in God.”

!!!! c)      The Worrell translation says, “Have the faith of God.”

Or “Have the God kind of Faith.”

!!! 4.   The literal translation to this verse is “Be constantly having the Faith of God.”

!!!! a)    He is trying to tell us that we are to have the same kind of Faith.

!!!!! (1)  We are to operate in faith the same way that God operates in faith.

!!!! b)     It’s this same faith that led 3 million Israelites out of bondage in Egypt and made a path of dry ground so they could cross the red sea.

!!!! c)      It’s this same faith that raised Jesus from the dead, and it has worked in the lives of the great men of faith through the ages.

!!! 5.

These men used the measure of faith that God dealt them and they followed His instructions.

!!!! a)     Faith will be of no use to anyone that lets it lie dormant.

!! C.  Now God expects you to grow in Christ.

!!! 1.   Grow in our trust, grow in faith.

!!!! a)    (Col.

3:16) Says, “Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.”

!!!! b)  Turn over to /COL// 1:23/

!!! 2.   /AMP/ [And this He will do] <salvation> provided that you continue to stay with and in the faith [in Christ], well-grounded and settled and steadfast, not shifting or moving away from the hope [which rests on and is inspired by] the glad tidings (the Gospel), which you heard and which has been preached [as being designed for and offered without restrictions] to every person under heaven*[5]*

!!!! a)     

!!!! b)    The Bible says, “So then faith [cometh] by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.” (Romans 10:17)

!!! 3.   When God speaks to you, to your heart or through His written Word, that causes faith to come.

When you listen and take heed, obey, believe what He said, trust Him, that causes faith to grow.

!!!! a)    It’s that simple.

Don’t make it harder then what He said.

!!!!! (1)   Sure we need to guard our heart from ungodly things.

!!! 4.   Look at /PRO 4:20-23/

!!!! a)   Notice that in Verse 23 he says that “My words” or “God’s Word” “ARE LIFE.”

!!!! b)  ~*~*~*The word “LIFE” means, “חָיָה (/ //ḥāyâ/ ) live, have life, remain alive, sustain life, live prosperously, live forever.

Also be quickened, revive from sickness, discouragement, or even death .

!!!! c)     The word “HEALTH” also means “MEDICINE.”.

!!! 5.   Listen to verse 23 from the AMP “Keep and guard your heart with all vigilance and above all that you guard, for out of it flow the springs of life.”*[7]*

!!!! a)   How do you guard and keep your heart?

Stay away from the negative, but that’s not enough, fill it with the positive, the WORD.

!!!! b)  At the end of verse 23 the AMP says, “Out of the heart flow the springs of life.”

What flows from your heart?

WORDS

!!!!! (1)  Jesus said in (Matt 12:34) “Out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh.”

!!!!! (2)       Out of your mouth will flow springs of life.

!!!!! (3)       Here is that your LIFE again.

!!!! c)     But He said, “Faith comes by hearing and meditating on His Word.

(Rom 10:17)

!!!! d)    Joshua said in (Joshua 1:8) “This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.”

!!!!! (1)  He’s saying the same thing that Paul is saying.

!!!!! (2)   If we hear God’s Word and meditate on it, it will produce faith, and if were obedient to His Word our faith will grow.

And then we’ll have the victory in our lives.

!! D.  2COR 10:15.

(Faith increases)

!!! 1.

The phrases “Faith cometh,”/(ROM 10:17)/ and “When your faith is increased” /(2COR 10:15)/ shows that the measure of faith God deals to believers can grow

!!! 2.   2 Cor 10:15-16 Notice “Faith increases ministry written   increase (Holman).

!!! 3.   I have heard people criticize the WORD OF FAITH teaching by saying that it is mean and cruel to say to someone that they did not have enough faith to receive.

!!!! a)    And I would agree.

You don’t want to slap someone when they’re down.

!!!! b)    But the statement is basically true.

!!!!! (1)  Eph 4:15 Tells us to tell the truth in love.

!!!!! (2)  It may not have been that they lacked faith, but rather their faith was not developed.

!!!!!! (a)   (ROM 4:20-21) Says that Abraham was strong in faith.

!!!!!! (b)   V21 in the KJV says “Persuaded” the NKJV says “Convinced”

!!!! c)     Our faith has to grow and develop.

!!!! d)    I remember a woman when I was pastoring in Mich.

She started coming to our church when she had cancer.

!!!!! (1)  She heard that we believed in healing, so she thought she would give it a try.

!!!!! (2)  I tried to give her the Word and build up her faith, but she would never rise to a level of real faith.

She always hoped she would receive her healing, but never had faith that she was healed.
