Why Is This Man Born Blind?

Jesus and His disciples come upon a blind beggar
Disciples have no compassion - don’t urge Jesus to do something
They want to lay blame on someone / a theological argument
this man deserves to be here
We don’t want to be like Jobs friends accusing him falsely because of his present state

I Must Work The Works

this was a necessary work, if it was not, it would not be done Jesus would not have done it just to antagonize the leadership
John 9:13–14 AV
They brought to the Pharisees him that aforetime was blind. And it was the sabbath day when Jesus made the clay, and opened his eyes.
this was The Father’s appointed this work, at this time and place
John 4:34 AV
Jesus saith unto them, My meat is to do the will of him that sent me, and to finish his work.
all the works Jesus did was the works of the Father
John 5:19–20 AV
Then answered Jesus and said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, The Son can do nothing of himself, but what he seeth the Father do: for what things soever he doeth, these also doeth the Son likewise. For the Father loveth the Son, and sheweth him all things that himself doeth: and he will shew him greater works than these, that ye may marvel.
The Father shows Jesus what He is doing
And Jesus joins in the work

The Time is Short

John 9:4 AV
I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work.
Jesus had a lot to accomplish in 3 years
train the disciples
heal
discipline the disciples
prove that He is the Son of God
Teach the disciples
The works the Father had for Jesus, cost Him a heavy price
being hated by the world
long hours, tired, hungry
ultimately going to the cross to die for His bride
John 9:5 AV
As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world.
and Jesus finished all of the works that the Father had for Him to do
John 19:30 AV
When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, It is finished: and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost.
then Jesus went away, and sent the Holy Spirit to continue teaching and leading The Disciples
John 16:12–15 AV
I have yet many things to say unto you, but ye cannot bear them now. Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come. He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of mine, and shall shew it unto you. All things that the Father hath are mine: therefore said I, that he shall take of mine, and shall shew it unto you.

The Fathers Works Now Through The Church

Jesus is the head of the Church and sees what the Father does, and He leads the body to join
But what has happened?
The Church does their own works
in their own power
under their own leadership
Why?? because it’s safer, less stress, requires money, and ability, not faith
What God wants, is impossible, stepping into the unknown
The Fathers work for Jesus was to stop and heal this man born blind
The Father told The son stop, this man I am going to heal
John 5:19–20 AV
Then answered Jesus and said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, The Son can do nothing of himself, but what he seeth the Father do: for what things soever he doeth, these also doeth the Son likewise. For the Father loveth the Son, and sheweth him all things that himself doeth: and he will shew him greater works than these, that ye may marvel.
the same with the apostles
they could do nothing on their own only what they see the Father do
Acts 3:1–7 NKJV
Now Peter and John went up together to the temple at the hour of prayer, the ninth hour. And a certain man lame from his mother’s womb was carried, whom they laid daily at the gate of the temple which is called Beautiful, to ask alms from those who entered the temple; who, seeing Peter and John about to go into the temple, asked for alms. And fixing his eyes on him, with John, Peter said, “Look at us.” So he gave them his attention, expecting to receive something from them. Then Peter said, “Silver and gold I do not have, but what I do have I give you: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk.” And he took him by the right hand and lifted him up, and immediately his feet and ankle bones received strength.
Lets look more closely at what happened here
The Trinity was at work, united here
1 Corinthians 12:4–6 AV
Now there are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit. And there are differences of administrations, but the same Lord. And there are diversities of operations, but it is the same God which worketh all in all.
Now there are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit.
And there are differences of administrations, but the same Lord.
And there are diversities of operations, but it is the same God which worketh all in all.
Holy Spirit Gives the gifts to the Church
Jesus Assigns the ministry (opportunity to use your gift)
The Father gives the energy for the gift to work
The Holy Spirit Gave Peter and or John the gift of healing
Jesus the (Head of the church) told the apostles to heal the lame man
The Father Gave the energy/ power to heal
The unity of the trinity and the church resulted in
Acts 3:8–10 AV
And he leaping up stood, and walked, and entered with them into the temple, walking, and leaping, and praising God. And all the people saw him walking and praising God: And they knew that it was he which sat for alms at the Beautiful gate of the temple: and they were filled with wonder and amazement at that which had happened unto him.
God wants to still work through the Church today. are we listening ?
God wants to do the impossible
The Church as a whole, needs to repent form doing our own thing, in our own power
and we need to

Redeem the time

The Hour is late - Its almost night
Jesus Return is close at hand, when our night will come
Like Jesus He had a short time on earth when he could do the work of the Father
And complete His work
Ephesians 5:14–17 NKJV
Therefore He says: “Awake, you who sleep, Arise from the dead, And Christ will give you light.” See then that you walk circumspectly, not as fools but as wise, redeeming the time, because the days are evil. Therefore do not be unwise, but understand what the will of the Lord is.
Ecclesiastes 9:10 AV
Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do it with thy might; for there is no work, nor device, nor knowledge, nor wisdom, in the grave, whither thou goest.
