We’ve been *teaching on* the subject of *faith and confession* and I want to *pickup* where we *left off* last time.
We were *talking about* *Abraham and his faith*.
*I) *So if you have your Bibles with you turn with me to *Romans 4:20*.
*A) *The word “*STAGGERED*” in this verse literally *means*, “*DOUBT or WAVER*.”
*1) **Abraham* was *given* the *promise by God* *that he was going to be the Father of many nations*, but *up to this point* he still had *no children*.
*a) *He *did not stagger* *or* *waver* *at God’s promises*.
He *refused to* let himself *doubt* the Word of God.
He *stayed* *strong in faith*, *believing* that *God* *would bring it to pass*.
*B) *The *last part of* this *verse* *says* that *he gave glory to God*.
*1) *He *glorified God* *by* *giving* him *praise* *for* his *children* *before he ever saw the miracle* of his children.
*2) *He was *fully persuaded* that *God would give him* this miracle of *children*.
*C) *Turn to *HEB 10:23*.
*1) *The word “*PROFESSION*” in this *V* is the same *Greek* word for “*CONFESSION*”.
*a) *So in other words this *V* *says*, “*Hold fast to your CONFESSION OF FAITH.*
*2) *In this verse *Paul again says*, *“WITHOUT WAVERING.”*
*a) *The Word *“WAVERING”* in this verse is a *little different* in meaning *than* the *one* we *found* in (*Romans chapter 4*).
*b) *The words *“WITHOUT WAVERING”* literally *mean*, *“FIRM and UNMOVABLE.”*
*3) *We need to *stay FIRM to our faith* *in what God said*.
*a) *And we also need to *be UNMOVED* *by** our circumstances*, *because God is faithful*.
*(i) **If God said it* *and* *we believe it*, *then* *we will receive it*.
*II) **MAT 8:5-10, 13*.
*A) **Jesus spoke* the* **Word* and the *servant was healed**.*
*1) *But *notice** something else* that Jesus said in *V 10**.**
(read)*
*2) **Why* did *this man have* such *great faith**?*
*a) *He *had** revelation** **of the power and authority** **of the Word* of God.
*B) **In order for you to have this same kind of GREAT FAITH, you to need to have this same REVELATION.*
*1) **Not only* did *this man have a revelation* *of the power of words*, but he *also* *HAD FAITH** *that *the boy would be healed*.

*2) *Just a little *side thought*, but *why was this centurion* *so worried about his servant?*
*a) *In the *Greek* the *word* “*SERVANT*” in this verse *refers to a boy or young child*.
*b) *The *centurion had faith* *that* *Jesus would heal the boy*.
*3) *In (*HEB 11:3*) it says, “*Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the Word of God*.”
*a) *The *worlds* were *framed by the Word* of God.
*b) **There is power in* the *spoken Word* of God.
*III) *Look at *LUKE 17:5-6*.
*A) *The KJV says*/, “/**If ye had faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye might say*...”
*1) *But *in the **Greek** it’s a **little different*.
*a) *The *Greek interlinear* (along with the *Wuest* Translation and *New American Standard Bible** says*, *“If you had faith as a seed**/ /**you would say*.”
(*Not* *“might say”*, you *“WOULD say.”*)
*b) *The *ASV* *says* the *same thing*.
It’s *worded like this*, *“And the Lord said**, If ye had faith as a grain of mustard seed**/, /**YE WOULD SAY** **unto this sycamore tree**/, /**Be thou rooted up, and be thou planted in the sea**; and it WOULD* (*not SHOULD*, but *WOULD*)* OBEY YOU**/./*”

*(i) **Faith speaks* *and** **when it does the circumstance will change*.
