The Fire of My Faith

The Lord is the Fire of my Faith

Psalm 27:1 NKJV
The Lord is my light and my salvation; Whom shall I fear? The Lord is the strength of my life; Of whom shall I be afraid?
Psalm 27:1
The Lord is my light Shadows, and he lights the way
The Lord is my salvation Saved me from danger. Salvation is signification for me to understand there is danger.
John 1:9 NKJV
That was the true Light which gives light to every man coming into the world.
Whom Shall I fear?
The lord is the strength of my life. The fortress. Whom I live my life within. The strength is outside of myself.
Of whom shall I be afraid? I should not be afraid of anyone or anything. David ran from Absalom, he made many mistakes and foresook God in the process.
Psalm 118:6 NKJV
The Lord is on my side; I will not fear. What can man do to me?

My Faith is Unquenchable!

Psalm 27:2
Psalm 27:2 NKJV
When the wicked came against me To eat up my flesh, My enemies and foes, They stumbled and fell.
The wicked came against me to eat up my flesh meaning to tear me apart. Our fear tears us apart individually and collectively. Fear will have us making accommodations where there are none. Looking for refuge where there is none.
My enemies and foes are synonymous in the sense but nuanced semantically that they can be different.
Personal enemies
And enemy is someone or something actively opposed to someone or something.
A foe is is an opponent who may not actively oppose but do not care for something or someone. Either way David writes:
They stumbled meaning they were impeded and fell means they fell down and did not succeed!
Isaiah 54:17 NKJV
No weapon formed against you shall prosper, And every tongue which rises against you in judgment You shall condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, And their righteousness is from Me,” Says the Lord.

My Fire is Greater than my Fear

Psalm 27:3 NKJV
Though an army may encamp against me, My heart shall not fear; Though war may rise against me, In this I will be confident.
David said my Fire is Greater than my fear.
Enemies will encamp against me!
Wars may rise against me.
My heart shall not fear!!!
David is saying that his emotions will not get the best of him but his Fire for the Lord meaning his faith will prevail!!!
In This: My light, my salvation, my strength ALL SIGNIFY A RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD AND NOT A GENERALIZATION!!!

The Desire of My Faith

The Presence of the Lord is My Desire

Psalm 27:4 NKJV
One thing I have desired of the Lord, That will I seek: That I may dwell in the house of the Lord All the days of my life, To behold the beauty of the Lord, And to inquire in His temple.
One thing I will seek
Hebrews 11:6 NKJV
But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.
That I may dwell in the house of the Lord All the days of my life is similar to and related to the fact that David wanted to be back in the presence of the Lord who he believed dwell in the temple of God to be in the presence of God.
The behold the beauty of the Lord
his kindness, his grace, his mercy, his love, his justness, commune, his character, AND MOST OF ALL HIS FAVOR!
And inquire in His temple.
Inquire in the temple means to seek the answers to spiritual matters and not carnal matters. The people of God should NEVER SEEK ANSWERS FROM MAN AND HIS BOOKS BUT FROM GOD IN THE CHURCH IN HIS BOOK!! We DO NOT follow man’s lead for spiritual things when man is carnal and have carnal ways. We seek God’s answers from His Word!

The Presence of the Lord hides Me

Psalm 27:5 NKJV
For in the time of trouble He shall hide me in His pavilion; In the secret place of His tabernacle He shall hide me; He shall set me high upon a rock.
I seek his presence at all times especially in the times of trouble
He shall hide me in His pavillion meaning a covered place. GOD WILL COVER ME!
HE SHALL SET ME UPON A ROCK!!!
Psalm 61:2 NKJV
From the end of the earth I will cry to You, When my heart is overwhelmed; Lead me to the rock that is higher than I.
The Rock is God himself. When we are with God we are out of reach of anything that can harm us!

I Will Offer Sacrifices in the Presence of The Lord

Psalm 27:6
Psalm 27:6 NKJV
And now my head shall be lifted up above my enemies all around me; Therefore I will offer sacrifices of joy in His tabernacle; I will sing, yes, I will sing praises to the Lord.
David said his head shall be lifted up above his enemies all around him meaning safety, TRIUMPH AND VICTORY!!!
David said THEREFORE! SINCE GOD HAS GIVEN ME THE VICTORY I WILL HAVE AN ATTITUDE OF GRATITUDE AND I WILL OFFER SACRIFICES OF JOY IN HIS TABERNACLE IN THE PRESENCE OF GOD!!!!
DAVID’S DESIRE WAS TO BE IN THE PRESENCE OF GOD WHICH WAS IN HIS TABERNACLE AND NOW THE PRESENCE OF GOD IS NOT IN HIS TABERNACLE BUT IN THE BODY OF BELIEVERS AND THAT’S WHY THE ASSEMBLY OF GOD’S PEOPLE IS IMPORTANT. Not 2 or 3 but the desire should be in the ASSEMBLY OF WHAT EVER PLACE HAS BEEN DESIGNATED AS WHERE WE MEET. The issue with the woman at the well and the pharisees was not the places they were meeting as much as the places they were meeting would hinder all who are the people of God on where to worship. The point is so that ALL OF GOD’S PEOPLE COULD ASSEMBLE IN WHATEVER PLACE DESIGNATED AND THE BUILDING WOULDN’T BE THE BARRIER!
