It’s a privilege and a blessing for the believer.

In *(**/MAT 26:28/**)* it says, “*For this is my blood of the new testament*.”

The word “*testament*” is also the word “*covenant*.”

The *last step (8th)* was to *eat the covenant meal*.

*a.*

They would *eat bread and drink wine*.

*i.*

The *bread symbolized*,* or represented*,* the body of the person* and *the wine**/ /**represented the blood*.

*b.*

*When* the *bread was given*, by 1 to the other *and* *they ate it*, it *symbolized again* that *they are 1*.

*c.*

As *they drank the wine*, the wine *represented the other persons blood*.

*i.*

The *Bible says* that the *life of the flesh is in the Blood*.

*ii.*

Therefore the *drinking of the wine symbolized that their life** **was now the others*.

*IV.*

*That is exactly what Jesus did when He broke bread with His disciples* *before dying and going to the cross*.

*He shared the wine** **and** **the bread with them** **saying*: “*My body is yours*,* you are now the body of Christ*,* my life is yours*,” *He’s given us the newness of life*,* **the fullness of life*,* **the abundant of life*, *and* *then He was saying*, “*You and I are one*.”

So many people have the idea of God as the 1 that is going to do bad things to them) (You shall know the truth and the truth shall make you free.)

*Another reason for communion* is that Jesus said in *(**/LUK 22:19/**) *this *do in remembrance of me*.

*Benefits of taking communion*
