Col 3:7-9
!! A.  At one time the Colossian Christians used to walk or live according to the ways of the world.

!! B.  He says in Verse 8, “But now you have put off these things.”

He then goes on with another list, but at the /end of verse 9/ he /says/, /“ye have put off the old man with his deeds.”/
!! C.  Going back to verse 5 & ,6 Paul talks about some sins that I think it is pretty clear that those thing are to done away with.
!!! 1.    /But/ in /verses 8 & 9/ he talks about more /common sins/, but even these sins need to be /put away/.

!!!! b)    A /forceful and deliberate/ act of riding yourself of these things.

!!!!! (1)  Anger isn’t always a sin, but it can be.
(Eph 4:26), Says, “Be ye angry, and sin not:”

!!!!! (1)  In (Gal 5:20) it refers “wrath to a work of the flesh.

Col 3:10
!! A.  We are to put on the “NEW MAN.”
!! B.  How do we put on the NEW MAN?
!!! 1.    It’s /not so much/ that we have to /step into a new suit/, but /rather/ we are to /walk in the newness of life./
!!! 2.    The /Bible/ /tells/ us that we are a /NEW CREATURE/.
!!!! a)    When we /received Jesus/ as our Lord and savior, our /spirit/ was /recreated/.
We became /brand new/ as /a new babe/.
!!!! b)    The /old things passed away/.
The /old man passed away/.
!! C.  Now the KJV says that this new man “Is Renewed in knowledge.”

The /actual Greek/ says, “/Is BEING renewed in knowledge.”/
!!! 2.    We are in a /continual state/ of /being renewed/.
!!!! a)    The idea here is that in order for us /to be victorious over sin/ (and really /over the devil/) we have to /continuously be renewed/.
