Last week we compared our days today to the last days/end times
Today I want us to compare our days to the times in the Bible.
To learn how we as a church should respond
Today is not much of an Ecclesiology,
but is a how we as a church should respond to the days we are living in Biblically.
Today I want to share with you 3 events in the Bible that turned from disaster to blessing
Just so you know there is many stories in the Bible where God takes difficult times and uses it to bring about good change.
All over God’s Word we read about God allowing destruction, chaos, famines, to bring out a better change.
Today we will only look at 3

1. Joseph & His Bros

So Jospeh is the young brother and he has a dream ()
Genesis 37:5–7 NKJV
5 Now Joseph had a dream, and he told it to his brothers; and they hated him even more. 6 So he said to them, “Please hear this dream which I have dreamed: 7 There we were, binding sheaves in the field. Then behold, my sheaf arose and also stood upright; and indeed your sheaves stood all around and bowed down to my sheaf.”
As a result the Brothers hate him and sell him into slavery and make their dad think that he died from a wild animal.
However Jospeh rises from slave to 2nd in command to Pharaoh ()
Around this time the Jospeh’s brother (that are God’s people believe it or not), experience a famine ()
Here we see that God does not give Heaven on Earth to His people
and that God’s people are living the same world the rest of people are living
Today since we (God’s People) don’t have a building to meet
the church is now in a melting pot together with the rest of the world in the internet.
We as God’s people are suffering the same problems as the world
There
So we got some churches saying they are persecuted for not being able to meet.
You hear from people in the church saying this is an attack from the enemy.
Saying the Devil is winning.
Many believers are complaining about all this as much as the world.
So Joseph’s brothers go to Egypt to seek help,
and they bow down to the second in command to Pharaoh asking for help.
Jospeh recognizes his brother, as we recoginize that Joseph’s dream came true.
and instead of Joseph getting his brothers back
he unites with them and gives them everything that they need to survive the famine.
he then says
Genesis 50:20 NKJV
20 But as for you, you meant evil against me; but God meant it for good, in order to bring it about as it is this day, to save many people alive.
Teaching us that:
What may appear to be evil… may be something God is meaning for good.
difficult days does not mean we are not God’s people
difficult days does not mean God is not working, in fact the opposite
difficult days will lead us to the next stage God wants to take us.
The million dollar question for today is what is the next stage that God wants to take us?
Before all this Cv-19 took place:
In almost every church service you can summarize the message into being about
the church to have a strong relationship with God individually
and not making church services the center of your relationship with God.
Well just look at what has happened:
there is , no church buildings, no coffee shops, no meeting places, no where in the world to gather.
first time ever in history
first time in histroy
for the church to have a strong relationship with God,
and not making church the center of your relationship with God.
Shows me that God is trying to wake up the church to relationship, and evangelism
(the two things the church deeply struggled in)
Now all the distractions are gone..... probably because we had no self-control or self discipline.
My guess is that it is those that are
So we got to learn the basics of being a Jesus follower.
Which is
Relationship with God
Before we complained that we were too busy to give the time for God.
Now we have time, and we have to learn that time wasn't really the problem....
it was is own heart. thats the problem
So we have to learn how to sit at Jesus feet again
How to meditate on His Word
How to be committed to prayer
How to memorize scripture
2. Evangelism
It is depressing when you look at the statistic of how many people claim to be a follower of Jesus
but never have shared about Jesus.
Not only did many Christians not share the gospel to others like Jesus gave as our main job but ...
many Christians don’t even talk, post, write, or record anything about Him.
Today since we (God’s People) don’t have a building to meet
the church is now in a melting pot together with the rest of the world in the internet.
there is no place to gather

The 10 tribes of Israel in North rebelled against God, and God warned Israel of destruction by prophets (Abijah, Jehu, Micaiah, Elijah, Elisha, Amos, Hosea, Jonah?, Nahum, Obadiah.
the people of Israel did not repent and they were destroyed in 722 BC by Assyria
To this day the tribes of Israel are scattered and will not be united until Jesus comes back
The good change this destruction did was that it got Israel to get their eyes off there idols and onto God.
Now while there eyes are on God unfortunately they missed Jesus because they became to religious and so the person they look for now is the antiChrist.
Today we can be a voice of God on the internet and social media!
We can show people there is hope, there is joy, there is peace.
The real shame is that many of us are complaining just as much as the world about the events going on today
Lesson here
What an opposite message you are bringing to the world then what Jesus has
You claim to follow Jesus but where is His example of love, peace, joy, mercy, forgiveness, gentleness?
If you love Jesus
Let us not continue in our sin when we are being warned.
Whats keeping you from posting about Jesus?
Let us not be to religious in how we worship that we miss what the Spirit is doing.
Whats keeping you from inviting someone to a church service by DM or a post?
your image and appearance?
if thats the case you better start kissing your own feet
and change all the worship songs from using Jesus name to your own name.
You claim to follow Jesus but where is His example of love, peace, joy, mercy, forgiveness, gentleness?

The 2 tribes of Judah rebelled against God, and God warned Judah of their destruction by prophets (Isaiah, Jeremiah, Joel, Habakkuk, Micah, Zephaniah, & Ezekiel. (might be missing some)
The people of Judah did not repent and they were destroyed in 586BC by Babylon
The world today is in a state of chaos
The good change from this is that they eventually turned back, and as says God will bring them back to the land, and restore them
Lesson Here:
Remember the promises of God - this is not forever, God said He will take care of us. (), He said He has not appointed us for wrath ()
Lets then act like Children of God and not like those without hope
Quit looking at whats going on today and saying things like it sucks,
look at God and say “your Kingdom come, your will be done”

difficult days does not mean we are not God’s people

The question for today is what is the next stage that God wants to take us?
Well just look at what has happened:
there is no coffee shops, no church buildings, no meeting places, no where in the world.
So maybe God is wanting us to slow down, to focus on our familes, to focus on our personal relationship with God.
The good change this destruction did was that it got Israel to get their eyes off there idols and onto God.
Now while there eyes are on God unfortunately they missed Jesus because they became to religious and so the person they look for now is the antiChrist.
Lesson here
Let us not continue in our sin when we are being warned.
God is eliminating idols, and has taken the things most important to us. Like our jobs, church services
Possibly all so that we focus on what is most important Jesus, doing the simple things He says to do.
Let us not be to religious in how we worship that we miss what the Spirit is doing.
like i said churches building are closed, there are no meeting places in the world, jobs are gone, school is gone.
God is forcing us to slow down, to focus on our families, and on our personal relationship with God, and in this melting pot we are in with the world be the light, spread the hope of Jesus.
Government
Enforcing laws,
Society
people are paniking
Some losing jobs
Some feeling so trapped
God is causing the church to focus on its own personal relationship with God.
My hope is that the church would engage in being hope in the world.
Small churches not able to meet or have abilities to gather
Med size church been scrambling to try to keep up with the professionalism of the large church
Large churches scrambling keep with production and staff without ability to meet.
I think God is trying to wake up the church to evangelism, and relationship
What is happening to them?
the church is now in a melting pot together with the rest of the world through the internet.
You hear from people in the church saying this is an attack from the enemy.

In the Melting Pot

We already
I think many people don’t represent Jesus because they think it wont make much of an impact in the world
Many any believers complaining about all this as much as the world.
but you can make an impact in your world.....with your friends, and family.
You got Christian leaders meanwhile talking about revival.
Can you come up with a reason why you wouldn't want to be brining hope, and encouragement to them?

What an interesting time we are living in.
Also shouldn't we represent Jesus not just to make an impact but simply just because of Jesus
Possibly all so that we focus on what is most important Jesus, doing the simple things He says to do.

God has taken away our “excuses” for a weak relationship with Him and why we don’t evangelize.
If we want to see what the next stage God has for us… well as the famine took Israel to God’s will.
We need to allow this Epidemic to take us to God’s will.

2. The Two Tribes in the South

The 2 tribes of Judah rebelled against God, over and over again
So God warned Judah of their destruction by prophets ()
2 Kings 17:13 NKJV
13 Yet the Lord testified against Israel and against Judah, by all of His prophets, every seer, saying, “Turn from your evil ways, and keep My commandments and My statutes, according to all the law which I commanded your fathers, and which I sent to you by My servants the prophets.”
So God warned Judah of their destruction by prophets
(Isaiah, Jeremiah, Joel, Habakkuk, Micah, Zephaniah, & Ezekiel. (might be missing some)

However the people of Judah did not repent and they were destroyed in 586BC by Babylon

Jeremiah 52:3 NKJV
3 For because of the anger of the Lord this happened in Jerusalem and Judah, till He finally cast them out from His presence. Then Zedekiah rebelled against the king of Babylon.
So the 2 tribes in south became captives to Babylon for years
However some of the people continued to seek God
and they realized
Deuteronomy 30:1–4 NKJV
1 “Now it shall come to pass, when all these things come upon you, the blessing and the curse which I have set before you, and you call them to mind among all the nations where the Lord your God drives you, 2 and you return to the Lord your God and obey His voice, according to all that I command you today, you and your children, with all your heart and with all your soul, 3 that the Lord your God will bring you back from captivity, and have compassion on you, and gather you again from all the nations where the Lord your God has scattered you. 4 If any of you are driven out to the farthest parts under heaven, from there the Lord your God will gather you, and from there He will bring you.
They encouraged the people to seek God
The good change from this is that they eventually turned back, and as says God will bring them back to the land, and restore them
and God brought them back to their own land and restored them
The good change from this is that they eventually turned back, and as says God will bring them back to the land, and restore them

Hosea 7:13 NKJV
13 “Woe to them, for they have fled from Me! Destruction to them, Because they have transgressed against Me! Though I redeemed them, Yet they have spoken lies against Me.
This message came true in 722BC because the people of Israel did not repent & so Assyria destroyed them ()

To this day the tribes of Israel are scattered and will not be united until Jesus comes back ()

The good change from this destruction was that it got Israel to get their eyes off there idols and onto God eventually.

because they became to religious and so the person they look for now is the antiChrist.
All over God’s Word we read about God allowing destruction, chaos, famines, to bring out a better change.
Lesson here: 2 of them
1. Let us not continue in our sin when we are being warned.
What we are facing today is nothing compared to famines, destruction, and removal from your land.
However God is still eliminating the worlds idols,
and also has taken the things most important to us.
Like our jobs, church services, fun places to hangout.
Possibly all so that we focus on what is most important -Jesus - doing the simple things He says to do. (relationship, evangelism)

2. Let us not be to religious in how we worship that we miss what the Spirit is doing.

Israel’s religion kept them from recognizing Jesus

God uses Disaster:

Conclusion

For us we are not in a famine, we are not destroyed, or taken captive
Things can be much much worse
Lets take this time to:
Let us be unashamed to proclaim Christ.
Let us light up the darkness
but you can make an impact in your world, with your friends, and family.
So why not start with b rining hope, and encouragement to them?
Also why not just start being a light simply because of Jesus
No
I think God is trying to wake up the church to evangelism, and relationship
Its a time for not just a time to get through this but an upgrade
its a time to not go to church but be the church
So
1. Teaching us that:
What may appear to be evil… may be something God is meaning for good.
difficult days does not mean we are not God’s people
