In Peter and John’s time, the culture was widely polytheistic. There were many gods that were worshipped. The Greeks and Romans worshipped many mythological deities.

ps
We need to study the word, not with the goal of gaining information, but for transformation and conformation.

Exclusivity of the Name

salvation, soteria, is only through Christ.
How many of you know people who are looking for salvation by other means? what other means are they pursuing?
The rulers and elders realized who John and Peter’s master had been and the influence that he had upon them
May that be our prayer.
The Pillar New Testament Commentary: The Acts of the Apostles 2. Teaching the People in the Name of Jesus (4:13–22)

They realized who their master had been and the influence he had had upon them

Summarize

Christ is the only hope for salvation and we must boldy proclaim his name. We can thank God for the power of the Holy Spirit with which he empowers us to be bold.
