Today we will begin with chapter 2 of the Gospel of John— I hope chapter 1 started populating your spiritual journal
How to understand the Bible is fun— it takes a little practice, but it will yield a life-long joy of purposeful, and eternally assuring life
Walking without God’s Word is like driving at night without your headlights on— on the other hand, walking with God’s Word allows you to see what is ahead— just far enough so you could navigate safely
Though you can only see as far as your headlights can go— but the good thing is that— you know the destination— says...

Today study as a very good example to this— take a listen
To whom shall I turn to with my problem?
Let’s take a look at what happened at a wedding in Cana— a village in Galilee where Jesus performed His very first recorded miracle
This happened early on in Jesus’ ministry on earth— and the people that are with him was his mom and his disciples

1 Two days later Jesus’ mother was a guest at a wedding in the village of Cana in Galilee, 2 and Jesus and his disciples were invited too. 3 The wine supply ran out during the festivities, and Jesus’ mother came to him with the problem. 4 “I can’t help you now,” he said. “It isn’t yet my time for miracles.” 5 But his mother told the servants, “Do whatever he tells you to.”
'Pagkalipas ng dalawang araw, may kasalan sa Cana sa Galilea, at naroon ang ina ni Jesus. Si Jesus at ang kanyang mga alagad ay inanyayahan din sa kasalan. Kinapos ng handang alak, kaya't sinabi ng ina ni Jesus sa kanya, “Anak, naubusan sila ng alak.” Sinabi ni Jesus, “Huwag po ninyo akong pangunahan, Ginang. Hindi pa po ito ang tamang panahon.” Sinabi ng kanyang ina sa mga naglilingkod, “Gawin ninyo ang anumang sabihin niya sa inyo.” ' Juan 2:1-5
At first glance on this pericope [short story]— you’ll probably say, this don’t have anything to do with me or my life— I am not getting married— or I am married already
What could I possibly learn from a wedding party?— if you’re careful— and not rushing through the scriptures, you will learn so much— remember, God’s Word is alive!— and every passage you glean on could bring you a different “Rhema” [rhema is defined as "God's Word Spoken to You] each time you meditate on it
That’s why I always encourage and remind everyone not just to listen, but also to read, study, meditate, memorize and apply the Word of God
So, let’s dig in and be amaze of what the Holy Spirit has in store for all of us this morning

See! From a story about a wedding party, we’ve learned 3 “timeless principles “ [principles that are applicable at the time when the passage was written— still applicable today— and will always be applicable tomorrow, beyond and forever]
Now let me help to translate these into life application statements
What could I possibly learn from a wedding party?
I told you that asking the right question is very important in understanding the Bible
The question today was—
To whom shall I turn to with my problem?
