Reasons not to worry

Worrying ignores your Worth v.25-26- Jesus beings this lesson worrying and anxiety by letting them know that life is more than the things that we are worried about. Even the basic day to day things that need. Now let me say early in this message that Jesus isn’t saying that we shouldn’t be concerned about eating or having clothes, but we should not give those things priority of God’s kingdom, nor allow them to distract us to the point of anxiety. The example he gives us is that of a bird. You’ve never seen a bird worry, with an ulcer, complaining, or anything. Birds wake up every morning singing. And they are singing before the find their first meal. And God provides for them. And we are worth more than the birds. When you begin to worry just remember that you are worth so much to God that God will provide what you need. And Jesus makes a point to say “heavenly Father” adding a parental relational component that the same way a loving parent cares and provides for their children is the same way God will provide for you.
Worrying Wont Help v.27- Your situation will not improve by you worrying! (preach) In fact, studies show that worrying and stress will cause the nervous system to release cortisol which in turn can causes many health issues such as: digestive problems (nausea), heart problems, nervous breakdowns. So, while you are worrying you pose a threat to your own quality of life outside of what you are worrying about.
Worrying indicates little faith v.30-32- Jesus again gives an example of the flower and how great it looks. The beauty of the flower can’t be ignored. And if God put so much attention on the flower, he will make sure we are clothed. It may not be what you are hoping for. It may not be the designer you want to wear, but God will provide you with what you need. In a setting where the Romans were oppressing and stealing from the poor it was good news to know that even what the enemy takes from us, God will provide. And when you don’t trust God to give you basic needs, it shows your faith needs work. If you won’t trust God for basic, how will you trust God for bounty? If you won’t trust God with ordinary, how will you trust God for extraordinary? If you can’t trust God to provide what necessities of life, how will you trust God to carry you from this life to life everlasting?
So have faith in God with the basics…Do you know what happens when you trust God with the basics.

Seek first the Kingdom and His Righteousness
Kingdom-
Righteousness-
I remember once when I was about 13 I took a crack at baseball. I was terrible. I was so terrible that I once struck out on a bunt. The only thing I had going for me in baseball was my speed, and that was if I was able to even get a hit. Once while in practice I got a clean hit. The ball went high and far. I took off running. the ball wasn’t caught and I kept running. I passed first, second, then as I was coming around third I could see the outfielder throwing the ball. So now was the race to home. Just in the nick of time ran into home and touched the plate. Home-run. I was safe! But the coach didn’t say “safe” he said get him. So the catcher picked up the ball and touched me with it. The the couch said, “out!” I was like, “out? How? I ran around all those bases untouched and I got home before the ball! How am I out?” He said, “you didn’t touch first base”. Nothing else matters if you don’t put God first.
