                                  A CALL TO WORSHIP

God is calling the body of Christ to be worshippers. All throughout the Bible God is attempting to have fellowship with mankind. Becoming a worshipper will place us in a position to receive God’s ultimate desire for our lives. That we should become all that he has created us to be.

The definition of worship- (simple def.) great honor and respect. Consider precious; hold very dear.

Turn to John 4:23- But the hour cometh and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in Spirit and in truth.

Jesus tells us how to worship

            I. In Spirit- By the Spirit, and with the help of the Holy Spirit. Romans 8:26 Likewise the Spirit helpeth us with our infirmities. Our infirmities refers to our weakness or inability in ourselves.

II, In Truth – Here Jesus is talking about worshipping in truth. Truth here refers to the Word.

            Enter the Prayer Closet.

                    I. Begin at the place of Praise. Praise is the avenue that will bring about the anointing to enter into Worship.

What happens here in the lives of many Christians is that they don’t move beyond the place of praise. Why? Because they get distracted.

This time of praise is where the Holy Spirit will begin to deal with you about areas of change.

                    Stay Focused-

III. Remember that the Holy Spirit is our helper. Allow him to bring you to the place of Worship.

Begin to sing Word based songs.

Speak out the Word of God over your life.

            IV. Keep pressing in.

Eli told Samuel to answer the Call

                    “Here am I”

Read the whole chapter of 1Samuel 3 when you get time.

Turn to 1Sam. 3:10 –

God gave Samuel knowledge concerning the sin of Eli’s house.

            V. Meditation- ponder the word of God. Think about how it applies to your life and how you can begin to walk it out.

Def. Meditate- think quietly; reflect: Think about, consider a plan.

Waiting on the Lord concerning His will. Get His divine direction and begin to think things through.

                 VI. God’s Character

Worthy – As we see God in the light of His word. We begin to understand His ways- This will help us to understand His ways. This will also help us to understand who we are in Christ, to understand our Worth.

Worth- (def) Our worth is not based on anything we have done. But the work Jesus accomplished on the cross. When he said “It is finished.”

The covenant between God and man, had now been restored.

We now have rightstanding with God.

                    VI. Wait Upon the Lord

                            a. Spend time in His presence. Bask in his love.

                            b. Fellowship is an avenue----You worship God------He let’s  you see things from His view. Everything begins to change when we see things through the eyes of His love..

                            c. God actively looks for the heart of the person whose Heart is after Him. (His kingdom)

TURN TO 2 Chron. 16:9- For the eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout all the whole earth, to shew himself strong on behalf of whose heart is perfect toward Him.

                    VII. Receive

                                    1) Receive His grace. His ability to do what He wants you to do. Your empowered.

Turn to 2 Cor. 4:17- For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding weight of glory 18- While we look not at the things that are seen: for the things that can be seen are temporal, but the things which are not seen are eternal.

Don’t let your circumstances, define who you are. What do I mean by that. You are who the Lord says You are. When we begin to believe what the Bible says about us and begin to speak it out. Then we will see it come to pass.

Let the peace of God rule your heart. This word let means allow. Allow him to change your life.

Pursue the purpose of being a worshipper. Keep an attitude of worship.

Favor will begin to cover you. Also, the anointing of God will begin to operate in your life.

1Samuel 3:19- And Samuel grew, and the Lord was with Him, and did let none of His words fall to the ground.

Opportunities will open to you. Most of all we will answer the Call to Worship.
