The Place Of Prayer

Kidz World Today - Children’s Church
James 4
James 4:8 NKJV
8 Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded.
Confession of Faith
I am not moved by what I see or by what I feel. I am moved by what I believe. I believe the WORD of God! The victory is mine! I have it now! I can see it through the eyes of my faith! In Jesus name

Draw Near To God

This is the greatest privilege in all the world: to approach and come close to God
As a believer you can approach God and talk to him share whats on you mind and heart anytime, anyplace.
The door into God's presence is never closed
Scripture teaches the door into God's presence is not only open, but we are strongly urged and encouraged to draw near God.
This verse is again a strong : "Draw near to God."
When temptation hits you and it is immediate, it is unexpected, it is fierce.
What should you do? What is your way out? What is your hope?
God—draw near God.
Drawing near means to get as close as possible to God. Get right next to Him.
Begin to talk and share with Him.
The idea is more than just submitting to God, much more. Drawing near means to draw ever so near, to get as close as possible to God. Get right next to Him. Begin to talk and share with Him. How do we do this? ⇒ By reading the Word of God, the Holy Bible, or if we do not have access to God's Word when the temptation strikes, by reviewing verses of Scripture over and over in our minds. ⇒ By prayer—by asking God for strength and power, mercy and grace. But note: the prayer should be positive, focusing upon God and His strength and Word, not upon the temptation. Keep your mind off the temptation and upon God Preacher's Outline and Sermon Bible - Commentary - The Preacher's Outline & Sermon Bible – Hebrew, James.

What Is Prayer

Prayer is An Attitude!

Prayer is communicating and fellowship with God. It is a settled way of thinking. It is the way you feel about talking to God It is what you believe about being in the presence of God communicating every moment
Apostle Paul instructed the Church
1 Thessalonians 5:17 NLT
17 Never stop praying.
1 Thes
Luke 18:1 NLT
1 One day Jesus told his disciples a story to show that they should always pray and never give up.

Draw Near To God

People who pray often do their praying in private or in secret.
Here’s what happens’ - when we see things happening, we believe God is simply acting on his own.
But that’s not what happens -
The bible teaches us that when God moves you can be sure that someone, somewhere was praying and interceding to bring him on the scene!
regardless of how it looks, the bible teaches us that when God moves you can be sure that someone, somewhere was praying and interceding to bring him on the scene!

We Are More Than Spectators

we have more responsibility in this game call life than sitting on the side lines and watching it happen!
Acts 2:17–19 NLT
17 ‘In the last days,’ God says, ‘I will pour out my Spirit upon all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy. Your young men will see visions, and your old men will dream dreams. 18 In those days I will pour out my Spirit even on my servants—men and women alike— and they will prophesy. 19 And I will cause wonders in the heavens above and signs on the earth below— blood and fire and clouds of smoke.
Act
Here’s what the bible is telling us when God pours out his spirit - men and women alike will speak - prophesy and
then, He will cause wonders in the heavens above and signs on the earth.
God’s servants must be speaking, talking and praying the word of God!

The prayers of God’s People Precede God’s actions!

Simeon & Anna’s Prayers Answered

The story of a praying man and a praying woman
The story of a praying woman
Luke 2:36–38 NKJV
36 Now there was one, Anna, a prophetess, the daughter of Phanuel, of the tribe of Asher. She was of a great age, and had lived with a husband seven years from her virginity; 37 and this woman was a widow of about eighty-four years, who did not depart from the temple, but served God with fastings and prayers night and day. 38 And coming in that instant she gave thanks to the Lord, and spoke of Him to all those who looked for redemption in Jerusalem.
After the birth of Jesus - when the eighth day -the day of circumcision arrived it was time For Mary and Joseph to take him to the temple and offer him to God!
Luke 2:25–26 The Message
25 In Jerusalem at the time, there was a man, Simeon by name, a good man, a man who lived in the prayerful expectancy of help for Israel. And the Holy Spirit was on him. 26 The Holy Spirit had shown him that he would see the Messiah of God before he died.
:25-26
Luke 2:27–28 NLT
27 That day the Spirit led him to the Temple. So when Mary and Joseph came to present the baby Jesus to the Lord as the law required, 28 Simeon was there. He took the child in his arms and praised God, saying,

Anna never ceased to worship, night or day. She "served God with fastings and prayers night and day."
Anna was a godly woman, a woman to whom God meant everything.
She was totally devoted to God, sold out to Him completely, hoping in Him and in Him alone.
here’s what I want you to see
1. Anna's fastings and prayers indicate that she was extremely disciplined, She had something that many of us lack - “consistency” in prayer .
She had something that many people lack “consistency” in prayer .
2. She fasted and prayed night and day despite being elderly, eighty-four years old.
She devoted herself to serving and hoping in God, praying and bearing witness as His servant.
Because of her consistency, in seeking God, she was in the right place at the right time and God answered her prayer - she saw the baby Jesus!

We must get in the game!

Get To The Upper Room

We must get in the game, get on our knees and start praying for God to intervene! we must start speaking out the Word Of God and his will so he can do signs and wonders!
Acts 1:12–13 NLT
12 Then the apostles returned to Jerusalem from the Mount of Olives, a distance of half a mile. 13 When they arrived, they went to the upstairs room of the house where they were staying. Here are the names of those who were present: Peter, John, James, Andrew, Philip, Thomas, Bartholomew, Matthew, James (son of Alphaeus), Simon (the zealot), and Judas (son of James).
Acts 1:14 NLT
14 They all met together and were constantly united in prayer, along with Mary the mother of Jesus, several other women, and the brothers of Jesus.
Acts 2
Acts 2:1–4 NLT
1 On the day of Pentecost all the believers were meeting together in one place. 2 Suddenly, there was a sound from heaven like the roaring of a mighty windstorm, and it filled the house where they were sitting. 3 Then, what looked like flames or tongues of fire appeared and settled on each of them. 4 And everyone present was filled with the Holy Spirit and began speaking in other languages, as the Holy Spirit gave them this ability.
