Jesus Plans Good For His Disciples

John 14:12 ESV
“Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever believes in me will also do the works that I do; and greater works than these will he do, because I am going to the Father.

Jesus Plans Good for His Disciples

Whoever Believes
Will do Jesus’ Work
They’ll Do Even More
Because Jesus is with the Father
Jesus Opens the Door to the Father
This is more than we know
Fully in what Jesus already knows
He gives greater power

A Direct Line to Glorify God

John 14:13–14 ESV
Whatever you ask in my name, this I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask me anything in my name, I will do it.

A Direct Line to Glorify God

Ask to Do What Glorifies God
Tied to what Jesus did
This is not a blank check
Jesus did what glorified God
Our selfishness doesn’t qualify
Are we asking for what Jesus will co-sign?
This is the Power to Change the World

Living in Love

John 14:15 ESV
“If you love me, you will keep my commandments.

Living in Love

Jesus Seeks Loving Relationship
He loves us. Redeems us. Saves us.
Do we love Jesus?
Or just what he does for us?
Love for Jesus is Proved in This
That we keep His commandments
First Command: Love God
Second Command: Love Others
Third Command: Love Each Other
It Can Happen Because The Holy Spirit Comes as “Paraclete”

Living in Hope

John 14:16–17 ESV
And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Helper, to be with you forever, even the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees him nor knows him. You know him, for he dwells with you and will be in you.

Living in Hope

Jesus Asks the Father to Send Help
The promise of the One Standing Beside
The only way we can keep his commands
To those who love him
Where our hope lies
Not bound up in selfishness
This is the Spirit of Truth
Only for those who know it in Jesus

True Life is In Jesus

John 14:18–19 ESV
“I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you. Yet a little while and the world will see me no more, but you will see me. Because I live, you also will live.

True Life is In Jesus

Isolation is not Jesus’ Plan
Not left in what we have lost
Don’t leave others in loneliness
Reach out and touch in ways you can
Keep Your Heart Open
Stay open to Jesus’ Presence
Jesus comes to us
Our Life is In Him
Because He Is Life

Knowing His Presence

John 14:20 ESV
In that day you will know that I am in my Father, and you in me, and I in you.

Knowing His Presence

In That Day
The Day of the Kingdom Come
Knowing He Lives
Believing His work for us
Believing His life in us
Believing His place in God
Knowing Our place in Jesus
Knowing His presence in Us

Love’s Hope is In Relationship

Whoever has my commandments and keeps them, he it is who loves me. And he who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I will love him and manifest myself to him.”
