Introduction

Psalm 103:1-5 (KJV) 1. Scripture Reading

Bless the LORD, O my soul: and all that is within me,
bless
his holy name.
2 Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits:
3 Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases;
4 Who redeemeth thy life from destruction; who crowneth thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies;
5 Who satisfieth thy mouth with good
things; so that
thy youth is renewed like the eagle's.

Prayer

Our God and Our Father, in the midst of an world wide attack by an invisible enemy of terror and destruction we come to your throne of Grace, our heads bowed but with uplifted spirits knowing that YOU are the ALMIGHTY GOD of the heavens and the earth and that every living thing is under your power and exist at your pleasure. You have not given us a spirit of fear but of love, power and a sound mind. And as David wrote in the BIBLE in Psalm 103:1-5 we pray:
1 Bless the LORD, O my soul, And all that is within me, bless His holy name. 2 Bless the LORD, O my soul, And forget none of His benefits; 3 Who pardons all your iniquities, Who heals all your diseases; 4 Who redeems your life from the pit, Who crowns you with lovingkindness and compassion; 5 Who satisfies your years with good things, So that your youth is renewed like the eagle. 6 The LORD performs righteous deeds And judgments for all who are oppressed. 7 He made known His ways to Moses, His acts to the sons of Israel. 8 The LORD is compassionate and gracious, Slow to anger and abounding in lovingkindness. 9 He will not always strive with us, Nor will He keep His anger forever. 10 He has not dealt with us according to our sins, Nor rewarded us according to our iniquity. In the mighty name of Jesus we pray, AMEN

Lesson Text:

Malachi 2:10–17 NASB95
10 “Do we not all have one father? Has not one God created us? Why do we deal treacherously each against his brother so as to profane the covenant of our fathers? 11 “Judah has dealt treacherously, and an abomination has been committed in Israel and in Jerusalem; for Judah has profaned the sanctuary of the Lord which He loves and has married the daughter of a foreign god. 12 As for the man who does this, may the Lord cut off from the tents of Jacob everyone who awakes and answers, or who presents an offering to the Lord of hosts. 13 “This is another thing you do: you cover the altar of the Lord with tears, with weeping and with groaning, because He no longer regards the offering or accepts it with favor from your hand. 14 “Yet you say, ‘For what reason?’ Because the Lord has been a witness between you and the wife of your youth, against whom you have dealt treacherously, though she is your companion and your wife by covenant. 15 “But not one has done so who has a remnant of the Spirit. And what did that one do while he was seeking a godly offspring? Take heed then to your spirit, and let no one deal treacherously against the wife of your youth. 16 “For I hate divorce,” says the Lord, the God of Israel, “and him who covers his garment with wrong,” says the Lord of hosts. “So take heed to your spirit, that you do not deal treacherously.” 17 You have wearied the Lord with your words. Yet you say, “How have we wearied Him?” In that you say, “Everyone who does evil is good in the sight of the Lord, and He delights in them,” or, “Where is the God of justice?”

Subject: Mal. 10-12

Malachi 2:10-12 (NIV) 10  Have we not all one Father? Did not one God create us? Why do we profane the covenant of our fathers by breaking faith with one another? 11  Judah has broken faith. A detestable thing has been committed in Israel and in Jerusalem: Judah has desecrated the sanctuary the LORD loves, by marrying the daughter of a foreign god. 12  As for the man who does this, whoever he may be, may the LORD cut him off from the tents of Jacob--even though he brings offerings to the LORD Almighty.

“Taking God Seriously By Keeping The Faith”

A) Attraction :

We find ourselves in a “pandemic”, it is a world wide contingent type of virus that attacks things that breath and we are in a fight to the death, its them or us BUT God.
In times such as these, we can’t afford not to take God seriously. We got one shot to get this right. Just one shot. People who are not on this presentation presume on God’s mercy. Whats happening is not a movie or a tale/story told by a mad man. Your faith is almighty God is our one shot. People are dying while we talk......but this time it’s more then a chance an event. We serve the Only true and living God who cannot fail.
Take your relationship with God seriously.... It’s the only shot that is worth having.
Ephesians 2:5 NASB95
5 even when we were dead in our transgressions, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved),

I. When Israel And Judah Split, It was Because They Were Not Taking God Seriously(v10)

10  Have we not all one Father? Did not one God create us? Why do we profane the covenant of our fathers by breaking faith with one another?

The idea of the argument is that Malachi could not get his head around how could could they be divided with the same Father? God the Father hated division then and still hates division among Brothers and Sisters being divided today.

profaning the covenant of Israel had entered into a contract with Yahweh (Exod 24:1–8). Their recent actions broke the terms of that contract and demonstrated their apathy toward those terms
Exodus 24:1–8 NASB95
1 Then He said to Moses, “Come up to the Lord, you and Aaron, Nadab and Abihu and seventy of the elders of Israel, and you shall worship at a distance. 2 “Moses alone, however, shall come near to the Lord, but they shall not come near, nor shall the people come up with him.” 3 Then Moses came and recounted to the people all the words of the Lord and all the ordinances; and all the people answered with one voice and said, “All the words which the Lord has spoken we will do!” 4 Moses wrote down all the words of the Lord. Then he arose early in the morning, and built an altar at the foot of the mountain with twelve pillars for the twelve tribes of Israel. 5 He sent young men of the sons of Israel, and they offered burnt offerings and sacrificed young bulls as peace offerings to the Lord. 6 Moses took half of the blood and put it in basins, and the other half of the blood he sprinkled on the altar. 7 Then he took the book of the covenant and read it in the hearing of the people; and they said, “All that the Lord has spoken we will do, and we will be obedient!” 8 So Moses took the blood and sprinkled it on the people, and said, “Behold the blood of the covenant, which the Lord has made with you in accordance with all these words.”

B) Judah Failed To Take God Seriously By Profaning Gods Sanctuary

Malachi 2:11–12 NASB95
11 “Judah has dealt treacherously, and an abomination has been committed in Israel and in Jerusalem; for Judah has profaned the sanctuary of the Lord which He loves and has married the daughter of a foreign god. 12 As for the man who does this, may the Lord cut off from the tents of Jacob everyone who awakes and answers, or who presents an offering to the Lord of hosts.
