Hello and welcome to another episode, our 189th episode, of Kids Bible Minute. I’m your host Landon Rowell and the preacher for the church of Christ in Ramona, OK. Thank you for deciding to study God’s Word with me this blessed day and I want to encourage you to have your Bible with you so that when I mention a Bible verse you can pause this podcast and read that passage for yourself. I want you to see God’s Word and not just take my word for it. Now after you have read that passage unpause the podcast, and then if I read the verse out loud read along with me. If you are new to our study, first I want to say thank you for studying with us and secondly I want to let you know that you can reach all archived or past episodes easily at ramonacofc.com in the podcast section where there is a direct link to Kids Bible Minute past episodes. It’s good to be back this week again after having to have a replay episode last week due to an unexpected family emergency that popped up. I’m glad to be looking at Revelation with you all again and this week we are going to be examining Revelation chapter 4. Now before we go further, through , everything mentioned, is in symbolic language as we discussed before so keep that in mind. Having read the chapter for yourself now let’s look at some of the key things found there. This chapter is one of my favorite chapters in all the Bible because of what it shows us. In the first verse John is taken up to an open door and told something important.
Revelation 4:1 ESV
1 After this I looked, and behold, a door standing open in heaven! And the first voice, which I had heard speaking to me like a trumpet, said, “Come up here, and I will show you what must take place after this.”
is an introduction to the rest of the book. Jesus is revealing God’s plan to relieve the extreme persecution that has befallen the saints because of Roman’s desire to destroy Christianity (). This intro begins by John peering through the open door and seeing God the Father on His magnificent and glorious throne. What a site that must have been for John. Again remember no man can see God, at least not in His spiritual state (; ), so again this image is not literal of the Father, just like in chapter one that image of Jesus wasn’t literal. This image of the Father is conveying a message which is “God is in control.” Imagine being hunted down and killed because you worshiped Jesus or your family not allowed to buy food at the markets because they were Christians. In this chapter Jesus is reminding everyone who their Father is, He is the one on the ultimate throne and He is worthy of our worship.
Revelation 4:11 ESV
11 “Worthy are you, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power, for you created all things, and by your will they existed and were created.”

Right now our world is struggling to handle this Covid-19 pandemic and they wondering about all sorts of things. Just like God is doing here in by comforting the righteous and encouraging them during this very dark day so too does our God do now each of us. God the Father, Son, and Spirit are in control and though things seem scary right now remember God loves us and if we put our faith and trust in Him, He will take care of us in this life and certainly in the next.
1 Peter 5:6–7 ESV
6 Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God so that at the proper time he may exalt you, 7 casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you.
