NAIL: True kingdom citizens live dependently on the King and are marked by persistent prayer, humble confession & childlike trust
Last week- Kingdom of God/day of son of man. The Pharisees & disciples confused.
Thought Jesus come in power- overthrow Romans. Israel rule in power and peace.
Didn’t understand that Jesus on way to die. And 2 advents of Christ. Sense of KoG now and not yet.
Pharisees confused asked when Kingdom of God. Jesus said in your midst
But to disciples- kingdom of God not yet. Or day of the Son of Man. Jesus comforted them they won’t miss the 2nd coming. Like Lightning.
But those not ready when he returns will face eternal judgment.
Kingdom of God theme continues into today’s passage.
Look at v. 8. Referring to 2nd coming same as last week.
Look also at v. 17. So this section of scripture is tied in with the end of ch. 17.
And the question this section of Scripture answers is this: who is the one who will enter the Kingdom of God?
