COVID-19

God our Father in heaven we lift up to you this day all those who are suffering from the COVID-19 illness around the globe and we pray that todays word would not in any way minimize the suffering of those affected by it but rather provide hope.

Father we grieve this illness and we pray for your divine provision and protection. We pray that you would stay the spread and effects of this virus and that those in positions of leadership in government, economics and healthcare would be given wisdom and steadfastness to act on Your behalf to and for us.

God we ask that you would help all of us here and around the globe to love one another well by seeking to care for the welfare of one another by taking the proper precautions and being wise with our interactions with one another.

Lastly, dearest Jesus, we ask that You might be pleased with and receive praise through the proclamations of this poor pathetic preacher. Jesus whatever is from man let it pass away quickly, yet all that is from You may it be anchored in our hearts and minds for now and ever more. Amen

Naaman Cleansed

2 Kings 5:1–14 ESV

1 Naaman, commander of the army of the king of Syria, was a great man with his master and in high favor, because by him the Lord had given victory to Syria. Why trouble the Teacher any further?” 36 But overhearing what they said, Jesus said to the ruler of the synagogue, “Do not fear, only believe.” 37 And he allowed no one to follow him except Peter and James and John the brother of James. 38 They came to the house of the ruler of the synagogue, and Jesus saw a commotion, people weeping and wailing loudly. 39 And when he had entered, he said to them, “Why are you making a commotion and weeping? The child is not dead but sleeping.” 40 And they laughed at him. But he put them all outside and took the child’s father and mother and those who were with him and went in where the child was. 41 Taking her by the hand he said to her, “Talitha cumi,” which means, “Little girl, I say to you, arise.” 42 And immediately the girl got up and began walking (for she was twelve years of age), and they were immediately overcome with amazement. 43 And he strictly charged them that no one should know this, and told them to give her something to eat.
