Not only were Mordecai, Esther, and the residents of Susa condemned to death, but all the Jews throughout the Persian Empire. This includes the Jews who have returned to the Promised Land! Can you imagine the jubilation of the Samaritans when they read the Jews were not only condemned to death, but they could take their possessions as well? It was a dream come true to the enemies of Israel.
