Intro

Jesus and Plato and Socrates and Aristotle
Socrates taught for 40 years, Plato for 50, Aristotle for 40, and Jesus for only 3. Yet the influence of Christ's 3-year ministry infinitely transcends the impact left by the combined 130 years of teaching from these men who were among the greatest philosophers of all antiquity. –Unknown
Principles are Jesus was moved with compassion, He developed others to continue the work, He was patient, He practised daily prayer , he was not self promoting

Jesus was Humble

Matthew 3:13–15 CSB
Then Jesus came from Galilee to John at the Jordan, to be baptized by him. But John tried to stop him, saying, “I need to be baptized by you, and yet you come to me?” Jesus answered him, “Allow it for now, because this is the way for us to fulfill all righteousness.” Then John allowed him to be baptized.
Mark 1:11 CSB
And a voice came from heaven: “You are my beloved Son; with you I am well-pleased.”
Jesus Ministry on this earth was never about him. He never tried to promote himself. He never tried to show off how he could heal people, or deliver people. Jesus was humble in his ministry.
Today we have many leaders today who like to flash their talent. They like to boast how much people coming their church, or how much people being delivered etc and they do it in a way to make themselves look good and make others look bad.
I belive this is the first characteristic that any successful leader should have and that is knowing that you dont know.
Knowing that you can do nothing except by God.
Know the importance of being humble and submitting to someone who is greater than you.

Jesus Was Prayerful - He practiced DAILY Prayer

Mark 1:35 CSB
Very early in the morning, while it was still dark, he got up, went out, and made his way to a deserted place; and there he was praying.
Now this flows out of being humble.
Seeking help and guidance was something that Jesus did DAILY.
Not on a Sunday Morning only or when there is a prayer meeting
He met with the Father Daily
He was totally dependent on God for everything
If Jesus was so dependent on the Father, how much more - me and you need to depend on him
When you spend time in prayer it tells God that you are dependent on him
Every single little child in this church go to their parents every day in prayer. Asking them for food etc.
They will cry when they dont get their food
So too all of are children of God and we need to show our dependence on our real parent who is God the father
This is done by praying and talking to him daily.
Prayer is a powerful and helpful tool for anyone who desires to be a healthy leader.
Many times we may want to accomplish great and mighty things for our departments and guess what we do
Instead of focusing and starting with Prayer we focus on another word that starts with P.
That is PLAN PLAN PLAN!!!
We call meeting after meeting after meeting
Nothing is wrong with planning but PLANNING WITHOUT PRAYER will yield very little
Pray first. Then plan. Pray again. Then execute the plan.
Before Jesus chose the 12 disciples he PRAYED
Luke 6:12–13 CSB
During those days he went out to the mountain to pray and spent all night in prayer to God. When daylight came, he summoned his disciples, and he chose twelve of them, whom he also named apostles:
21 days of prayer

Jesus was a compassionate person

Matthew 9:36 CSB
When he saw the crowds, he felt compassion for them, because they were distressed and dejected, like sheep without a shepherd.
One of JESUS major characteristic was how much love and affection he had for people
He was full of compassion for them
Jesus had a genuine heart for people . He was full of love for them
People do not care how much you know, people care how much you care.
People should feel that you care for them as a person, that you don’t like them simply for what gift or talent they may have.
Jesus attracted so much people because they knew he would help them with their problem
Jairus ran to Jesus cause he knew Jesus cares for everyone.
In Jesus wept cause he was so compassionate for people.
Every leader should pray for a compassionate heart for his people.
Ask for a heart like Jesus
When the widow of Nain was going to bury her dead son, Jesus had compassion on her as a widow and raised her son back to life
Today I want you to know that no matter what you going through right now - Jesus knows and he has great compassion for you and he wants to fix your situation
That is the same thing every leader needs to have. Compassion

Jesus was patient

Matthew 26:75 CSB
and Peter remembered the words Jesus had spoken, “Before the rooster crows, you will deny me three times.” And he went outside and wept bitterly.
Matthew 15:16 CSB
“Do you still lack understanding?” he asked.
One trait I admire the most about Jesus is that he is so Patient with people
One trait I admire the most about Jesus is that he is so Patient with people
One trait I admire the most about Jesus is that he is so Patient with people
This is something that most people struggle with but it is much needed for a leader
Jesus was extremely patient .
Sometimes as a leader , you may get so fed up at times with people that you just want to strangle some of them at times when they mess up.
Not everyone is as mature as they ought to be and sometimes these things can test your patience.
This goes hand in hand with compassion.
Jesus had a lot of patience with the 12 dicciples.
When they were on the boat, they started to scream and they woke him up from sleep.
When he ask them to pray with him, they fell asleep
He invested so much into Peter and Peter deny him 3 times but Jesus didnt give up on Peter
Patience is the keyword
Jesus continued to invest into his disciples despite their flaws, despite their weaknesses, despite how much times they let him down.
He invested in them and they did what he wanted them to do.
The people who tests your patience right now will one day make you PROUD!!!
Don’t give up on people
Ask God for patience like Jesus
Without Jesus’s patience there would be no PAUL!!!
He was willing to bear His disciples lack of faith. ()
He was willing to bear being spit on and struck in the face. ()
WHAT ARE YOU WILLING TO BEAR AS A LEADER?

Jesus reproduced Leaders

Matthew 4:19 CSB
“Follow me,” he told them, “and I will make you fish for people.”
Jesus took time to develop the people under him
Jesus developed those 12 disciples
Jesus knew he wasn’t going to be around forever
Jesus needed to make sure that the teachings he taught continued to spread when he was away
Jesus invested his life and teaching into his disciples
Basically just around 3 years
As a leader you need to realise that you wont always be around
Tina and her talk about Pastor
Brother Ashook says this church is very hard to speak to
He doesnt try to keep the mic only on his hand
He gives it to others
Many leaders and pastors dont do this because they very insecure
They scared if people begin to like the other person more than them
They scared if people decide to like the assitant pastor more than themselves and the assistant might take them and form his own church
Those things really do happen in some churches
Jesus invested his life into his followers
Leaders need to do the same
Give other people oppurtunity to preach, to cheer, to sing etc
Sister Susan does this as well
She reproduces her talent
Whatever gift you have - teach to others
teach someone the keyboardm the guitar, the drums.
You not going to be around forever
This organization was founded by PH Hosein and he passed it on to his son Elvis Hosein who will one day also have to pass it on
We have Danny and Susan leading for years and they will soon have to make way for others
There are many church leaders today who may have been responsible for the success of their churches but they are reluctant to accept that their effectiveness has began to drop and they need to pass on the mantle to someone else. They often refuse to choose a successor. Like many of us they feel no one can replace them.
There is no indispensable man
Sometime when you’re feeling important;
Sometime when your ego’s in bloom
Sometime when you take it for granted
You’re the best qualified in the room,
Sometime when you feel that your going
     Would leave an unfillable hole,
     Just follow these simple instructions
     And see how they humble your soul;
Take a bucket and fill it with water,
Put your hand in it up to the wrist,
Pull it out and the hole that’s remaining
Is a measure of how you’ll be missed.
You can splash all you wish when you enter,
You may stir up the water galore,
But stop and you’ll find that in no time
It looks quite the same as before.
The moral of this quaint example
Is do just the best that you can,
Be proud of yourself but remember,
     There’s no indispensable man.

Conclusion

Which one of these do you think you lack the most in?
Humility, Compassion, Prayer, Patience, Reproduction?
For this Month - Ask God to help you to grow in that area
