Amen, so we've been walking through the Book of Genesis the first book of the Bible together and I love it because what it offers us is a a beginning place a starting place. That's what Genesis means is a book of Beginnings. It offers us a framework of foundation. From which we can learn to to see all of life not through the lens of 21st century American. thoughts or even 16th century Reformation thoughts or first century Jewish thought but it allows us to enter into the story of God from God's perspective. Genesis is the foundation that gives us a context to understand the rest of the story and so it starts really with the big questions of worldview. It starts by telling us where we are answers the question of environment. What is this world that we find ourselves in and the answer the Bible gives us is that it is the creation of a good and wise God who is establishing for himself a kingdom and a people. we have revealed to us a god of Life a god of order and a god of blessing we've seen in Genesis right from the beginning the god Delights in creating not because he's lacking not because he needs something but because he is so full he is so profoundly full that he wants to share himself. It's okay to create the heavens and the Earth. He creates the Supernatural and the natural he creates these Realms and then he feels those Realms and he's hard to desire. His plan is to have a kingdom. Kingdom of imagers both natural and Supernatural who work and partner with him and with each other to extend his glory and Kingdom God create space and fills it and then invites us to join him in that were. Good answer the question. Where are we going to answer the question? Who are we we are the Imago Dei. We are the image of God. We are Gods Imager. We are meant to worship him but we are meant to partner with him. God makes us like him in the same way that God brings order and life mankind is made and invited to bring order and light. That's the creation mandate. We saw on Genesis 1 God made Man In His Image in His image. He made them male and female made them and God bless them and set them be fruitful and multiply subdue the Earth and rule over that's what it means to be made in the image of God to be a Divine imager is to join God in his work of bringing order out of chaos life out of death light out of Darkness. We're made by good and wise Sovereign Creator to join him in his kingdom of beauty and goodness. But the the Book of Genesis also tells us something else that is. Incredibly important answers the third question of worldview. What is wrong the question of evil? Why is the world as broken as it is? Genesis gives us a framework for understanding the reality of evil. Because we are made as Gods imagers because we are made to join him in his work. He gave us a measure of freedom and autonomy. He wants us to use our will to choose that which is good to choose Kim. How could we partner with him in any meaningful sense without that kind of freedom and personal responsibility?

Out of that reality we find right in the opening chapters of Genesis Genesis 3 that mankind chose not to go the way of God. That's the way of cell. It's a it's an important lesson because we live in a culture that's as fiercely independent and autonomous as any culture that ever existed in the history of the planet. It may not be the central value of our culture. If it's not it's it's top three at least this idea that we are the makers and crafters and Shapers and formers of our own destiny that we don't need a king. We don't need oversight. We don't need Authority we want to forge and shape our own path. We love and celebrate. a radical Independence in our culture and the challenge of that for us. Is it the Bible talks about that kind of radical Independence? And it's not a good thing. In fact, we see it over and over again is time of the judges everybody did what was right in their own eyes.

And it wasn't a good thing as the proverb says there is a way that seems right. to a man or a woman there's a way that seems right. It seems good. It seems satisfying it seems productive. It seems desirable. Is that not the temptation? Of Eve in the garden. Look at the fruit. It's good. It will let you do what you want. It will let you be your own God it will let you determine right from wrong Go Your Own Way don't go God's way. your way

And since that fateful decision by even had them with her we've been making the same Choice over and over and over and over again with the same results sin brings brings life sin Rings brings. Peace. spinsters hatred This is a scene. You don't like any good piece of music. I don't know how many of you like music and I imagine we all like different kinds of music but whatever kind of music you listen to a relay to or that really stirs your heart one thing about it. Is that every good piece of music. Has a theme that gets repeated doesnot in fact if you just hear one little frame. One little cord one guitar riff one beats you kind of know where it's going to go and every good piece of music Builds on that. It starts with something in it moves on a little bit different then it comes back to its it may add it may bills to put it's going to be there and you recognize it. It works its way in every every good piece of literature every good story. Every good book works the same way doesn't not you're introduced to a character and idea concept the theme and you know it sometimes when you're reading it you're like, oh this is important. This is coming back. But sometimes you don't notice it and it surprises you when it comes back, but you recognize it from where it came from. That's the way it works.

You know the Bible works like any good piece of literature, like any great piece of music. It builds upon itself. It has themes and repetition that come back which we hear one piece and it reminds us of another piece. It has connections that are deep and profound.

This morning. I want us to think through some deep and profound connections from Genesis chapter 6 Genesis chapter 6 continues this idea not only of evil the question of evil but the question of eschatology where we going. What does God do in the face of evil? And how does God plan to work it out? We started Genesis chapter 6 last couple of weeks and I'm not going to get into some of the weird stuff this morning. I promise we'll come back to it. All right, but I want us to step back and just think about it as a whole. And this morning think about what the flood story reveals about God. Alright, let's look at the text. It starts this way Genesis 5265 the Lord saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth already. Just that phrase should take you back to Genesis chapter one that great poem of creation. What's the refrain of chapter 1 it was good. It was good. It was good. It was good. What do we get with the creation of mankind the climax of God filling the Earthly realm. It was very good. but now Just a few short chapters later. Man's been expelled from the garden. The first two sons of Adam and Eve experience fratricide the murder of one brother in the story of Genesis chapter 3 chapter 4 out of the out of the garden is a story of the Ascension of wickedness and evil canes bad limit is worse. It's escalating its intensify evil is growing. Wickedness is laying its roots deep into Humanity. That's right. The sons of God the dogs that the Nephilim all that sort of stuff and what we find here in Versailles. The Lord saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth that every intention of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. That is a at holistic as a phrase as I think you can make I can't think of another adverb or preposition or whatever to intensify what it's saying. Every intention of the thoughts of his heart was only evil. continually evil is spreading and growing. at a rapid pace

and the Lord regretted That he had made man in the earth Tim to his heart. One of those interesting verses that requires some more thought and explanation will will dig into it a little bit more later. But the basic idea here is I think one that we can all relate to if we've had children or grandchildren. We watch our children make incredibly foolish choices. Sometimes do we not I mean we can see it as plain as day. We know where it's going to go and we tell him don't do that. It ain't going to work out the way that you think it's going to work out which I don't do it and then like I know everything you're stupid and I'm going to do it my way.

and anger sauce it angers us if we're good parents because we love them. It angers us it breaks our heart not because they're not listening to us not because they're breaking a rule. It hangers us because we know the consequences of the choices they're making because we love them don't want to see them hurt. When is a parent as a grandparent think you can relate with me this morning? If we as imperfect parents as we are in love our children like that can grieve when our children make foolish decisions. How do you think our heavenly father sees when he looks down upon the Earth and sees the escalation of evil to the point that it can be described as every intention of his heart was only continually Eve. Heart Of God is breaking. The evil is destroying. It's good creation. God is mad for them every bit as much as he might be mad at them. This is heartbreaking. What's God's going to do? The Lord said I will blot out man. Whom I have created from the face of the land man and animals creeping things birds of the Heaven from sorry that I have made them. . We just stop there. I mean if the scripture ended right there. It wouldn't be called Good News. On the surface. It looks like God's going maybe I made a mistake. Maybe I shouldn't have made them. I don't know about you, but my God doesn't make mistakes.

God says I'm I've got to stop. This proliferation and escalation of evil. I've got to do something to rein it in they are literally killing themselves. Something must be done. So I'm going to wipe it up.

but

I've often said you got to pay attention for butts in the Bible and this is a big butt. All right, let that sink it. but Noah found favor in the eyes of the Lord is evil everywhere you look but for no, he found favor in the eyes of the Lord. So these are the generations of Noah. Noah was a righteous man blameless in his generation, which I think is a nice way to be described. Although his generation was a pretty low bar. When Noah was a righteous man blameless in his generation, Noah walk. with God and that's interesting because we've seen this already in Genesis. They were walking with God in the cool of the breeze. Enoch in chapter 5 was a righteous man who walked with God so much so that he was not the Lord took him. Noah is a man who walks with God. I don't think this is analogy. I don't think this is symbolic. I think Noah had a relationship with God because that's what we were designed.

Everyone else in Multnomah generation chose to go their own way, but know what shows got.

He walked with God. And so it continues to said Noah had three sons Shem ham and japheth and the Earth was corrupt in God's sight and the Earth was filled with violence.

Got saw the Earth and behold. It was crap. I'll flash of corrupted their way on the earth. God said to know I've determined to make an End of All Flesh for the Earth is filled with violence through them behold. I was Destroy them with the Earth make yourself an ark of gopher wood make rooms in the ark and cover it inside and out with pitch. This is how you are to make it the length of the arc 300 cubits. Its breath 50 cubits. Its height 30 cubits make a roof for the ark and finish it to keep it above and set the door of the Ark on its side make it with lower second and third decks for behold. I will bring a flood of waters upon the Earth, but it's already taking us back. How did it start in the beginning God created the heavens and the Earth have a spirit of God was hovering over the waters. They were formless and void the creation narrative chapter one describes for a chaos. In the deep water the spirit and God speaks and brings order and life. Now. I got to say I brought order you messed it up. So I'm going to use disorder to bring it back to a place that I can do something. I'm going to bring a flood of waters upon the Earth To Destroy All Flesh, which there's Breath of Life under the heaven everything that is on your Shield. I I will stablish my Covenant with you and you should come into the ark your son's your wife and your son's wives with you justice chapter one that makes Mankind and comes into Covenant with them be fruitful multiply spread and Rule. Now even in the destruction that is being proud about by the wickedness of the floods. What does God do God makes a covenant with them? salons that

if every living thing of All Flesh, you should bring two of every sort and they are to keep them alive with you. They shall be male and female of the birds according to their kinds of animals according to their kinds of the creeping things on the ground according to its time to of every sort of coming to you to keep them alive also take with you every sort of food that is eaten in store. Pichel service food for you. And for them Noah did this. He did all that God commanded him.

I'm not going to get into the weeds this morning about. The reality of the Ark and was the flood Universal or a local flood and how does that work? And how do we match that up with geography and all of this modern scientific discoveries we can we will talk about that in the future. What I want to do is look at the story as a story and see what it is revealing about the big picture in the big picture, even though mankind as a whole has rejected the rightful ruler of God. God is not going to start over. God is not going to give up. God is going is not going to walk away. God is going to intervene and bring about a deliverer who will rescue not only his people. But his plan. This is what Genesis 6:6 reveals to us. It's not written to tell us there was a flood everybody in ancient world news. There was a flood it is written to give us a theological insight and understanding of why there was a flood and what God was up to with it and it is a chorus in the Symphony of scripture that is repeated over and over and over again. In fact even just the context of Genesis Genesis We Believe according to the scriptures was written by Moses Moses wrote Genesis, when he wrote the first five books called the Torah or the law of Moses Genesis Exodus Leviticus Numbers and Deuteronomy were written by Moses for the people after they've been rescued and delivered from Egypt after they come to the mountain and receive the Covenant and the Loft and as they were going into the promised land Moses sit-down inspired by the scripture Gathering resources from earlier times and people anticraft. and right Genesis Exodus Leviticus Numbers Deuteronomy, so that the people of God The Covenant Community of people from sign I might understand their place in God's story. This is who wrote it. This is who it was written to and I want you to understand. Remember the Bible is not written to us. It's written for us, but it's not written to us. It was written to that community at that time, and I want to show you. How even rolling Genesis chapter 6 but this theme. This chorus this reprise.

Going to be seen over and over and over and over again that yes evil May prosper. But God is greater than evil and God loves to deliver his people and his plan in surprising ways from the power of chaos and death and darkness. Think for a minute about Moses and you know the story I mean Disney's probably ruined it for some of us, but like we we know the story. God rescues his people in a time of famine by bringing them to Egypt but years later they find themselves in slave Abraham's descendants has grown into a mighty people, but they are not working for themselves. They're not working in their land. They are working under the thumb and oppression of pharaoh and the Egyptians. And into that context we find this in Exodus chapter 2 a man from the house of Levi went and took his wife at Levi woman the woman conceived and bore a son and when she saw that he was a fine child hit him for three months, which doesn't make sense to us that every person. I know that has a baby wants to show them off.

They're not up to you. But we always say there are a whole other story. But but they look at Moses. They look at this baby. And I love him. He's he's fine and they hide in. I don't know how you hide a babe. I don't imagine that was easy. But for three months they hide him. Why do they hide him because Pharaoh was so threatened by the blessing upon Abraham's to send it to Abraham's descendants belong to the Covenant with Abraham. They were people of blessing God was with them and for them it's even in slavery. They were zero and prosperous. They were growing a girl looked upon them and it was so threatened by their prosperity. Is afraid that they were going to overtake him in his own land. So he imposed harsh and strict oppression upon them. You made them work painful long boil an hour's so that it wouldn't have any strength left even think about rebellion. And when that wasn't enough he enacted his most harsh measure the absolute measure of genocide he commanded for a season every male born to the descendants of Abraham must be put to death

And put the death where in the Nile River and the Nile. It's us it's just another River but to the ancient Egyptians, it was a symbol of their God's power and authority was the source of life. Everything came and revolves around the Nile so that there's there's a logical Imaging in this you must take your children and condemn them to death in the river of our God in the river of the Nile. They must go down into chaos.

hundreds and thousands Baby boys born to the Israelites were consumed in the waters of the Nile.

So they hid Moses till they could hide him no more. When you could hide him no longer what you got in the longer. She took for him a baskets made of bulrushes and Dobbs in with bitumen and Pitch you put the child in it and placed it among the Reeds by the riverbank. Now this this is why I never want to make you Just trust your Bibles. I never want to make you do that. But this is one of those texts. It just makes me angry about that the interpreters that.

Because what you don't see in this text is absolutely vital. We miss it in English. What does text says literally is when she could hide them no longer she took and made for Kim and Arc. Made a bulrushes and dodged it with bitumen and Pitch. You cannot read this. In Hebrew and read Genesis chapter 6 and what God called Noah to do to make a narc out of gopher-wood and seal it up with pitch a bit if it's intentionally using the English translation for whatever reason they don't use the same word consistently to Genesis chapter 6. We got an arts and now here in Exodus chapter 2. We got a basket and we miss It's like a it's like instead of tearing that refrain hearing that chorus over again. Somebody just plays the drums really loud as we miss it. It sounds kind of similar but we don't understand we don't make the connection still supposed to make the connection as Moses is writing this for the Israelites and they read and they look back to Genesis chapter 6 mice eat. How did. Rescue his people in the flood wealth key made an art for them? It's sealed up. And preserved his people during the story of Moses who is Moses to deliver that God used to deliver his people. How did God do it he made an ark

tree with pitch

I can't imagine what Moses's mother was feeling that day. That morning when she realized I can't hide him any longer. She makes an arc. She puts them in the ark she cast him off into the water of chaos and death. What is going to happen. We know the story The don't let your knowledge of the story make you miss the beauty of it. This is beautiful. She put the child in it placed among the Reeds by the riverbank his sister stood at a distance to know what would be done to him. She just following down the river now the Pharaoh the daughter of pharaoh came down to bathe at the river with her young women walked beside the river. She saw the basket among the Reeds. She saw the among the Reeds and sent her servant woman and she took it when she opened it. She saw the child and behold the baby was crying. There's very few sounds as Annoying as a baby crying.

But it's a beautiful sound it does something to us. Doesn't it? It's not just women. It's not just maternal. Does it to the men to we hear a baby crying babies are by Nature defenseless. They cannot help themselves. They cannot protect themselves. They cannot when a baby cries its desperation. It's humility defined that that's all they can do is cry for help. And when we hear it the pharaoh's daughter and moved her to compassion. She took one look at him and said well, this is one of the Hebrews children. She knew what was going on. She knew what her dad had commanded. She'd seen countless body drowned in the Nile River. And yes year was one of them preserved in our

She's moved with compassion the most the sister I give her big props this this girl has encouraged his sister goes up to Pharaoh's daughter and says, hey, I got an idea that nurse from the Hebrew women woman to two nurses child for you. He hears this baby 3 months old. Understand in ancient Egypt. They nursed till probably five or six years old. So here's this girl's daughter's not going to nurse a baby. Certainly. Not a baby that wasn't even hers. Even if she had had that baby. She wouldn't of nurse that she would have had a winner. Sister Dawson says hey, how about I go to one of the sheep is the Hebrew baby. I'll go find a Hebrew nursing and and she can pay the wet nurse for it. Farrah's daughter said you were go so the girl went and called the child's mother and Pharaoh's daughter said to her take his child away and nurse him for me and I will give you your wages. She started out the day not knowing if her son was going to be a lie. She places him in Ark in the Nile the river of chaos and death and sends him off. And what does our god do at the end of the day. She's doing what she was doing at the beginning of the day. She's nursing her child, but she's being paid by Ferrell to do it.

Come on now.

So the woman took and nursed him when the child Grew Older she brought him to Pharaoh's daughter and he became her son. Call me five or six years old at the time. I was six years. I got to grow up with a sister his brother. Got to know his Hebrew family probably had interaction with them after he went to the court and household affair.

beautiful amazing story She named him Moses. Lesbian are in are we named kids before they're born? really increasingly strange ways in our culture some of the names I hear the Ancients didn't name people that way the name people very often after they were born sometimes significant amounts of time after their born based on circumstances or details of the of the place or or how they were born or what the what the kid was like, So now comes and names him Moses. Actually an Egyptian word is an Egyptian name. Very common name. It literally means to be get a son right so she claiming him. She's claiming him, even though I told him out of the river. I'm claiming him. I I'm naming him as my son to be get to to Bear a son. She knows she's interacted with the Hebrews around. The Egyptian word for Moses sounds strikingly similar to a Hebrew word that means to draw out of the water to draw out. So it's it's sounds like this this Hebrew word, right? And that's what amazing thing.

But God actually uses prophetically, it's it. It's forgive my geekiness. Okay, but sometimes grammar really matters. As a normal reading of it if if Moses is named mint drawn out of the water. He would have been called Michelle.

That's the way that the Hebrew work. That's what he would have had it been called miss you. He wasn't called drawn out of water. He was called motion, which means I draw out of water. Oh Lord, Pharaoh's daughter had no idea what she was naming him. The one who would draw them out of water because the story of Moses doesn't enter, you know, the story grows up young man in Pharaoh's household and then he ends up like all young man. He killed the dude. He got to flee for his life for 40 years has got to hang out with sheep. Until God shows up and says I've got a job for you even want the job. He does everything he can to get out of the job. But God is going to get things done a man. So God calls Moses and you know the story he brings him back and I wish I wish I could freeze for a couple hours. I wish I could help you see all of the connections between the story it comes back. He says says the Pharaoh of the god of Abraham Isaac and Jacob demands that you had his people go and and he's like what God we talkin about And I know so Moses performs a miracle. One of the plagues and fair is not that impressed because I can do that. So his give people reduce the first three.

The fair still won't do it. Pan flakes ending up with the angel of death 10 plagues until the people are preserved by the Passover Lamb until Ferrell relent and sent them out the connection to the 10 plagues. Connect to the ten words The Ten Commandments are going to be given in the Covenant at Sinai, but they connect back to the 10 times God speaks in Genesis chapter one that there are connections throughout the scriptures.

Moses Moses God chooses Moses to use as a deliver to bring his people out of Egypt after the 10 plagues. They are sent out. They go out into the Wilderness. They start going through changes his mind. I'm not going to let them go out on a chariot him and his army. They go chasing them. They get backed up against the Red Sea right in the end of people where they do you bring us out here to die we could die back there.

I want to complain but that's what they're doing. What does God do God says Moses stretch out your hand Moses stretch out hands and the waters.

Don't miss the connections. The Watusi is part of and a walk on the dry land where else do we see the Seas party at dry land. This is taking us to Genesis is taking us to Genesis. Once he's taking us to Genesis. All of these implications are wrapped in together. God delivers his people through the Sea of chaos and death to the other side and they all survived and then he collapses the Waters of death and Chaos on pharaoh and his army. And the people are delivered and then what does he do? He takes them to the mountain and he makes Covenant with them.

Genesis chapter 1 out of the Waters of chaos. God creates he makes mankind. He makes Covenant with them.

Genesis 6 evil proliferate God brings about the flood he preserve and protect Noah and his family he brings them through the flood. He brings them to dry land. And what does he do? He makes Covenant with him the people find themselves enslaved in Egypt God hears their trust. He raises up a deliverer. He performs Miracles. He brings them through the water on dry land and he makes covenants with them.

You'd almost start to think God is doing something on purpose.

You want of my one of my heart beats as a pastor and teachers help you understand It's in this storyline. The God sends his son. Jesus doesn't appear out of nowhere. Jesus is not this disconnected savior that just shows up wanders around for a few years and dies and rises again so that when you die, you can float off the heaven Jesus is the climax of a symphony that's been building in the entire Old Testament scripture. And if Dodge is a deliver from evil in the Old Testament, what do you think? He's going to do through his son? We're not used to seeing them but the connections are there if you look. I love how Matthew Jesuit Matthew of the four gospel account gives the most Illusions to the Hebrew scriptures the most connections we get it right at the beginning. Matthew chapter 213 listen to this when they Departed the wise men the hold an angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph in a dream and said rise take the child and his mother and flee to Egypt and remain there until I tell you for hair it is about to search for the child to destroy him. But the star revealed the king of the Jews was born here.

Of the Jews rising up in Rebellion sounds familiar the king over the juice is afraid of the Jews. What does he do? He gets a lot of genocide to kill every male child 2 years and under

you're Jewish person you grown up with the story of The Exodus you celebrate the Passover every year, you know that store you cannot miss the connection. Jesus is born and where does God sent him for protection? Is that an accident there were other options on the table?

Joseph and Mary and Jesus the family they flee to Egypt.

Euro's took the child by night they departed to Egypt and remained there until the death of Herod. This was the fill with the Lord It's spoken by the prophet out of Egypt. I called my son. Which is 4 biblical interpreters one of the texts that gives you a headache because he's quoting from Jose Jose chapter 11 verse 1 and it's not a prophecy. Jose is speaking. God speaking through say it says hey remember when I called his real my son out of Egypt. It's not looking for when we think prophecy to happen in the future Hosea talking about what I did in the past. But here's the thing. Our God is the same yesterday today and forever and Matthews point in his usage of this is what God did in calling his son out of Egypt Moses that deliver he is now redoing through his son made flesh Jesus and in the same way as real with called out of Egypt to be the people the Son of God now. Jesus is going to be called out of Egypt the son of God. It gives me goosebumps people then you start thinking about the story of Jesus. Think about Jesus when he begins his ministry. What did he do? He goes to John and I are in the waters of the Jordan the same place that they were LED across into the land. He is that comes up the spirit descends upon him. So this is my son greatly loved everybody listen to him. What does Jesus do immediately goes into the Wilderness for 40 days and 40 nights. Are you seeing the connection and what happened to Moses after the people send in the temp the Commandments broken in and they refused to go into land. They wandered for 40 years in the wilderness.

What did Jesus do after he comes out of the weather is he comes back he begins to call people to follow him. And then he gathers them together any praise all night, and he chooses 12 to be his Apostles his disciple. Was it just a random number the Jesus like no. Just like there were Twelve Tribes of Israel. Not Jesus has the 12 apostles.

What's building here? You like where's the ark? Where's the water?

Jesus is the ark. and the water is to the Jesus is not going to just deal with a representation of Evil. Jesus is going to deal with evil. Jesus is not going to come and with the might of an army defeat Evil Jesus comes and he lets evil take out its full vengeance upon him. He takes it upon himself every thought of sin every moment of rebellious every instance of chaos and pain and evil, he takes upon himself and sin and evil does to him what's in an evil. Does it gives death? Jesus, takes it all upon himself. And it looks like this time God didn't pull it off with the mystery and beauty and surprise of the Gospel. If it death could not hold him three days later the tomb burst open. It could not contain him. The Arc of Jesus's body was physically resurrected and we are now placed in

How does God protect and preserve his people and his plan in Genesis? He did it with Noah and an arc in Exodus. He did it with Moses and it are in the New Testament. He doesn't with Jesus as the art. That's that protects and preserves us from us from Faro. But from the Serpent's not just From Slavery to political Empire with slavery to sin and ultimately to death Jesus is the new and greater Exodus.

Why did Jesus die on Passover?

God could have orchestrated at any time, right? I mean, I think I'm a surface reading the day of atonement would have been a better. fit but not really. I think about this Jesus the night that is betrayed. He gathered with his disciples. celebrate Passover

I like this verse 14 and Luke 22 when the hour came. You're kind of table and the apostles with him. And he said to them I have earnestly desired to eat this Passover with you. Before I suffer Heart of Jesus, I've been waiting. I've been anticipating I couldn't wait to gather together with you and celebrate the Passover. Remember how God LED his people out of Egypt into freedom to remember how God brought the descendants of Abraham. He was faithful to the Covenant Abraham and brought them out and made Covenant with them at Sinai.

The eager to do this with you before I suffer.

Because Jesus knew his role. He was the Passover Lamb.

In Egypt, they had to kill an unblemished perfect lamb and put its Blood on the door post so that the angel of death would pass by now. Jesus would be that lamb. He was the Lamb of God is John the Baptist said who came to take away the sins of the world.

How long have this Passover with you before? I suffer. What is the suffering? That brings our freedom. He says that's why I tell you I will not eat it again until it's the field in the kingdom of God. Took a cop and when you're getting things he said take this and divided among yourselves.
