1 John 5:18-20

Born of God and Sin (vs18)

When you are born again, you simply cannot go on as before.

Those who are born again will be guarded against sin.

We must remember this, so we don’t approve what God condemns.

We have a great promise of being free from Satan’s touch.

God/World Distinction (vs19)

We are God’s children because of His great love (3:1).

Those not in Christ are of the world and under Satan’s rule.

The world is always trying to pull us away from Jesus (4:1-6).

Don’t settle for defeat and death when you’re a child of the King.

We Know Truth (vs20)

Our understanding is given by Jesus and settled in His Word.

Our understanding leads us to truly know God.

Only Jesus is the true God and eternal life.

Don’t be led astray by what anyone else claims to know.
