All month we have talked about being persistant… and as we come to the close of another black history month, I cannot help but to think about the countless amount of people it took for us.. for me .. for you.. to be able to live where you want to live .. asl long as you can afford it… go where you want to go… and yes be what ever you want to be…
there has been barrier after barrier that has been knocked down.. .
at the railroad most of our rules have been written in blood.. . meaning that 80% of the safety rules that are in place now have been because .. someone suffer a broken bone.. a scrap… lost a limb.. or loss their life...
Many of us have or had grandparents.. parents that grew up in a time when it took some will power.. some tanasity.. preserverance to make it day after day.... but it was in their victory over those things…
the bible says in

11 And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.
it was because they didnt give up that .. some of us are living today… single parent.. yes it was hard.. but they didnt give up..
the first to graduate high school.. because others felt that it was more important to quit school and get a job..
the first to go to college and graduate..
the first to start their own buisness.... not just start a business but start in a time went people felt like it was ok to spit on others who didnt look like them....
II. shift
over the years parents sacrificed .. in order to provide… they went to jobs and put up with some mess.. because the job had some benefits.. it may have not been $50hr but they were able to maintain the bills and .. a guess what.. give their children.. made a way so their children can have just a little bit more than they had...
but somewhere along the way.. when children began to have children… and the mommy and daughter started to go to the same club at the same time....
when the men started acting like boys.. and not taking care of their responsibility..... and the grandparents started raising there grandchildren.. because the momma still wanted to lay up with the next thing smoking… or becuase the parent felt that they didnt want to see the children struggle like they did.....
over these years.... during this season.... there was a shifting took place.....
a shifting away from lessons you can only learn in the struggle.....
3 And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience;
4 And patience, experience; and experience, hope:
in other words.. its in the struggle that we learn patience… gratitude… humility…hope..
its in the struggle that the saints of old learned how to lean on Jesus.. learned how to trust in his word...

I thank God for the mountains,

For if I'd never had a problem,
I wouldn't know God could solve them,
I'd never know what faith in God could do..
and when we heard someone sing the song… tears would begin to fall… our hands would go up.... and we would begin to shout thank you Jesus..
but now in 2020.. we sing the song.. and there is no reaction… no tears.. no praise.. why.. because we hate struggle… we do what ever we need to to get out of it…
there is no priase.. because many dont know God… because they dont know his word...
so when we feel like we cant deal with something.. we pop a pill.. smoke a blunt.. drink some alchol...
and it has lead to a generation of kids thinking that the parents owe them something… it has lead to people walking off their job.. becasue the boss told them he wasnt going to let them off.. and they only come to work 3 1/2 days out of the 5 they are supposed to be there..
there was a shift that took place.... not just naturally so but spirtually as well..
many have become like the ones that built the tower of babel … because our understnding has been enlightened .. because we seem to be more educated.. .. we feel like we can do any and everything… so we come to church to socialize… because something deep down in us.... thats buried ....just want let us .. completely walk away from the church… so we try to pasify it .. by coming and sitting…
III. next gear
my time is just about up.. and i came tonight to tell somebody.. its time to shift gears..
somone shout..its time to shift…
yes .. spring is coming and the clocks are about to spring up one hour.......
its time for you to come out of your depression… come on out of your hibernation… brush your teeth and put your big boy clothes on..

why dont you tell some one.. put your church clothes on...
i just want to encourage.. you tonight.. stop giving up and giving in.. stop talking negative… if you are believing God for something.. …if God....not your flesh… doesn't tell you know.. or doesn't answer you… then keep believing it… keep believing God... until he brings it to pass..
stand still.. dont be wishy washy.... believe in his power.. put on the whole armor… so you can see.. the tricks of the enemy.. so you can withstand the tricks.. the temptations of the enemy....
you have to have it all ..not just parts… get your mind right… give your life to god… consecrate yourself… get in your word.... protect your faith.. dont tell everbody what your beliveing God for… just let them see the results…live saved… walk right before God… 24/7.. not just 24/1… one day a week.. pray.. and pray consistently...
and when your spirit man is together.. God will take care of the natural.. .. because this is spiritual warefare…
