Jesus had one more work to do.

John 20:17

17 Jesus saith unto her, Touch me not; for I am not yet ascended to my Father: but go to my brethren, and say unto them, I ascend unto my Father, and your Father; and to my God, and your God.

KJV

Heb 9:11-12

11 But Christ being come an high priest of good things to come, by a greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say, not of this building;

12 Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us.

KJV

Is it possible to make too much of the blood of Jesus?

1 Cor 2:2

2 For I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified.

Review Abraham's Covenant: What makes Abraham so important to me?

Gal 3:6-7

6 Even as Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness.

7 Know ye therefore that they which are of faith, the same are the children of Abraham.

KJV

Gal 3:13-14

13 Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree:

14 That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.

KJV

If I am going to live in the Abrahamic Covenant, I need to do what Abraham did. What was Abraham's part of the covenant with God?

Gen 15

  1. Abraham Rested.

Gen 15:12

12 And when the sun was going down, a deep sleep fell upon Abram; and, lo, an horror of great darkness fell upon him.

KJV

  • Why is that important? We can add nothing to the covenant. When I enter into works, I leave the realm of faith. If I read more , if I pray more, if I ….....

#. Abraham guarded the sacrifice. Explain.

Gen 15:11

11 And when the fowls came down upon the carcases, Abram drove them away.

KJV

  • If one of the birds had stolen part of the sacrifice, would there have still be a sacrifice?
  • How do I guard the sacrifice?
  1. Abraham Believed God.

Gen 15:6

6 And he believed in the Lord ; and he counted it to him for righteousness.

KJV

James 2:19

19 Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble.

KJV

It takes more then just believing in God.

Gal 3:6

6 Even as Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness.

KJV

Do I Believe God?

  • What can I do if my beliefs are weak? ( Head Knowledge ) How do I get them to drop down into my heart, and become faith?

Do I have faith in His Blood?

Rom 3:24-25

24 Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:

25 Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God;

KJV

What are the benefits of the blood? And how do I apply them?

Remission or forgiveness of Sins.

Matt 26:28

28 For this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins.

KJV

Why is this important? What does sin do?

1 John 1:7

7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.

KJV

Other Witnesses:

When God forgives sin,

25 I, even I, am he that blotteth out thy transgressions for mine own sake, and will not remember thy sins.

KJV

  • I thought he forgave me, for my sake???? Explain.

Prophecy about our day.

Isa 43:25

25 I, even I, am He Who blots out and cancels your transgressions, for My own sake, and I will not remember your sins.

Jer 50:20

KJV

Heb 8:12

KJV

Can God just choose to forget sin? Doesn't justice demand a consequence?

That's were my part comes in.

1 John 1:9-2:2

9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

10 If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.

If I covenant my sins??? How do I covenant my sins?*

2 My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous:

2 And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.

KJV

Advocate:

NT:3875

What does he present as my defense? Can he say Allen didn't do it? ( That would be a lie. ) Allen didn't mean to do it? Allen couldn't help it? No.

2 And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.

KJV

NT:2434

an atoning sacrifice

Webster

Rom 3:24-25

24 Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:

25 Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God;

KJV

When I confess my sin, Jesus my advocate presents my case to the Father, and then presents his own blood as evidence that the price has been paid.

* What if I don't feel forgiven?

What is my part? I must believe I am forgiven. Am I forgiven if I don't believe it?

I must guard the sacrifice.

Rev 12:10

10 And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night.

KJV

Resist Him.

I must rest. How do I rest in my forgiveness? Don't add to it, That is the second half of my confession.

(pro-) fess who I am in Christ.

Healing

1 Peter 2:24 ties Physical Healing to the atoning sacrifice of Jesus Christ.

1 Peter 2:24

24 Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.

KJV

1 Peter 2:24

24 He personally bore our sins in His [own] body on the tree m[as on an altar and offered Himself on it], that we might die (cease to exist) to sin and live to righteousness. By His wounds you have been healed.

AMP

1 Peter 2:21

by means of whose bleeding stripe [the word "stripe" is in the singular here; a picture of our Lord's back after the scourging, one mass of raw, quivering flesh with no skin remaining, trickling with blood] you were healed,

(from The New Testament: An Expanded Translation by Kenneth S. Wuest Copyright © 1961 by Wm. B. Eerdmans Publishing Co. All rights reserved.)

What is my part in healing in my covenant? I must believe. ( 12-15 times)

What do I do if my believing is weak?

Guard the sacrifice. How do I do that? Go through the word and remember every time Jesus healed someone.

Rest. How do I rest in healing? Especially if everything else says I am worse? Confess.

Heb 10:21-23

21 And having an high priest over the house of God;

22 Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water.

23 Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;)

KJV

I am Redeemed by the Blood of Jesus.

1 Peter 1:18-19

18 Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers;

19 But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot:

KJV

Ps 107:2

2 Let the redeemed of the Lord say so, whom he hath redeemed from the hand of the enemy;

KJV

How many of us are redeemed?

Acts 20:28

28 Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood.

KJV

What happened when we were redeemed?

Col 1:12-14

12 Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light:

13 Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son:

14 In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins:

KJV

  • We have been translated into the Kingdom of Jesus, already, not one day. We have been given Kingdom privileges now.

What is may part?

  1. Believe.

  3. Rest.

Other witnesses:

Eph 2:13

13 But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ.

KJV

Col 1:20

20 And, having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things unto himself; by him, I say, whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven.
