Church Leaders Need Prayers

Introduction:

Q: How often do you pray for your Church Leaders?

Four Areas Church Leaders Need Prayers.:

I. Pray For Their Preaching.

"Preach" means to proclaim publicly.

"In season" means preaching when the people desire to hear the truth.

"Out of season" means preaching the truth when the people don't want to hear it.

Q: What should I pray for to help my Pastor to preach effectively?

A: 1) Biblical accuracy.

2) Sensitivity./

3) Boldness. - L- John 8:31,32/

A. Preach to convince. - L- v.2; Matthew 3:2; John 14:6; Matthew 7:13,14

B. Preach to rebuke. - L- v.2; I Timothy 5:20

"Rebuke" means to expose to correct. James 3:1

"Rest" refers to other teachers.

C. Preach to exhort. - L- v.2

"Exhort" means to encourage. - I Thessalonians 2:11,12

II. Pray For Their Families. - L- I Timothy 3:4,5

A. Biblical teachers need to love their wife. - Ephesians 5:25

B. Biblical teachers need to love their children. - Ephesians 6:4; Proverbs 13:24; Proverbs 22:6

III. Pray for their Families. - L- I Timothy 3:2-4; 6-7

"The husband of one wife" means a one woman man.

A. Pray for protection from Satan/demons. - L- Matthew 6:13; Galatians 5:16

B. Pray for a good testimony. - L- v.7a

IV. Pray For Their Health. - Proverbs 17:22a

A. Pray for physical/mental health.

B. Pray for spiritual health. - Philippians 4:4; Hebrews 13:8

Conclusion:

Q: How can I pray most effectively for my church leaders concerning the four areas we talked about this morning?

A: 1) Pray for them in the morning.

2) Pray for them during your one hour of prayer time.

3) Pray for them during your Prayer Team time.

4) Write out your prayers for them. - James 4:2
