I. Scripture
John 15:4–10 NLT
4 Remain in me, and I will remain in you. For a branch cannot produce fruit if it is severed from the vine, and you cannot be fruitful unless you remain in me. 5 “Yes, I am the vine; you are the branches. Those who remain in me, and I in them, will produce much fruit. For apart from me you can do nothing. 6 Anyone who does not remain in me is thrown away like a useless branch and withers. Such branches are gathered into a pile to be burned. 7 But if you remain in me and my words remain in you, you may ask for anything you want, and it will be granted! 8 When you produce much fruit, you are my true disciples. This brings great glory to my Father. 9 “I have loved you even as the Father has loved me. Remain in my love. 10 When you obey my commandments, you remain in my love, just as I obey my Father’s commandments and remain in his love.
John 15:4–10 KJV 1900
4 Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me. 5 I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing. 6 If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned. 7 If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you. 8 Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; so shall ye be my disciples. 9 As the Father hath loved me, so have I loved you: continue ye in my love. 10 If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father’s commandments, and abide in his love.
II. First Impressions
what was the first thing that came.. or comes to mind when you read this passage of scriptures?
III. intro
For the month of February we have talked about having perseverance..... some stick to it ness… determination.. that i want what i want and I am not going to take anything less… They widow going back to the unjust judge… going to someone that does not care about anyone … but she keep going back.. until she receive the answer she wanted..being persistant in prayer..
we talked about .. the power of opening your mouth … swallowing pride .. an dasking for help.. because guess what..we have all been there… and just because someone says no.. or does not answer you.. keep asking…
but now i want to talk about the importance of being presistant.. having some stick to itness when it comes to the things of God… We should know by now that… God will advenge you.. he will give you those things that you asking for...
but the same way we are praying … asking.. and expecting God to do something for us… he is expecting us to use that same focus… intensity … persistance.. when it comes to the things of God…and the most important thing is… RELATIONSHIP..

you may ask yourself.. why… whats the importance of me abiding/ remaining in him… staying connected to him…
have you ever seen one of these new light bulbs.. that when you disconnect it from a power source .. it does not immediately go out… but it slowly dies down and goes out...
have you ever cut your grass or had someone cut your grass. and it was either super high or they cut it too low and .. you had globs of grass laying on top… and for a couple of hours or a day… it stayed green.. but it slowly turned brown..
the bible says in
John 10:10 KJV 1900
10 The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.
someone say LIFE!
We must stay connect to Jesus.. to God… so that we can live..
we must fight through the tiredness.. the woes of life and keep our relationship.. with God..because what happens when you get too far out there and you loose your connection...
its hard to feel the heat from the fire when your 100ft away..
verse 6 tells us what happens when we become disconnected .. when we loose our fervency in our relationship with God…
John 15:6 NLT
6 Anyone who does not remain in me is thrown away like a useless branch and withers. Such branches are gathered into a pile to be burned.

III. Benefit
since 65% of humans have developed and attitude… that aint nothing free… an attitude of whats in in for me.. verse 7 says
John 15:7 NLT
7 But if you remain in me and my words remain in you, you may ask for anything you want, and it will be granted!
John 15:7 KJV 1900
7 If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.
david says it like this..
Psalm 103:2 KJV 1900
2 Bless the Lord, O my soul, And forget not all his benefits:
psalm 103:
now verse 7 does not mean.. because you know a couple of scriptures … and you go around saying.. thy word have i hid in my heart… no maam.. no sir… it means because am in relationship with God… and over time i have come to know him a little bit better… i have come to understand some of his plans for my life…
and since he has allowed me to understand…and see some things… i no longer pray .. or ask for things that will be detrimental to my calling.. to my anointing.. to my salvation.. to my purpose that he has for me.... and because of this when I pray .. i dont pray amiss .. im praying in his will .. and then when i pray … ask.. those things are lined up with his will for me.. therefore.. i will recieve it..
imagine being married.. and now after 10 years your both going in two seperate directions .. so the marriage has become stale… but imagine if your both working together.. you both know what the other likes.. dislikes… so your not going to do anything.. that will cause harm to the marriage..
IV.. results
this leads me to the results ..
when we are remain.. abiding in him… allowing him to lead us.. guide..us… allowing his will to supercede our wills … our plans.. when we are walking according to the purpose he has called us for… then guess what.. GOd gets the glory...
so yes.. after the dust settles.. one of the main puposes for our life… is that God gets glory..... the more glory he gets from your life.. the more fruitful you become… th emore fruitful you become .. the song says… blessings upon blessings...
and who cant use another blessing...
v. how do i know
you maybe wondering.. well how do i know if im abiding.. in him… remaining in him… in fellowship with him…thats a great question...
ask your self.. are you keeping his commandments?

Exodus 20:1–17 KJV 1900
1 And God spake all these words, saying, 2 I am the Lord thy God, which have brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage. 3 Thou shalt have no other gods before me. 4 Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth: 5 Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the Lord thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me; 6 And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments. 7 Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord thy God in vain; for the Lord will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain. 8 Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy. 9 Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work: 10 But the seventh day is the sabbath of the Lord thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates: 11 For in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the Lord blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it. 12 Honour thy father and thy mother: that thy days may be long upon the land which the Lord thy God giveth thee. 13 Thou shalt not kill. 14 Thou shalt not commit adultery. 15 Thou shalt not steal. 16 Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbour. 17 Thou shalt not covet thy neighbour’s house, thou shalt not covet thy neighbour’s wife, nor his manservant, nor his maidservant, nor his ox, nor his ass, nor any thing that is thy neighbour’s.
