How many theologians does it take to change a light bulb?"

100 - one to change the bulb and 99 to explain why an infinite
God of love would allow darkness to occur in the world at all.

You know, you get the impression from the book of Acts that it was only a few minutes after the church began before darkness began to surround it and seek to overcome it.

·         What happens in Acts 3?

Peter Heals the Crippled Beggar
Peter Speaks to the Onlookers

·         What follows in Acts 4?  DARKNESS . . . or is it light?

Peter and John Before the Sanhedrin

1The priests and the captain of the temple guard and the Sadducees came up to Peter and John while they were speaking to the people. 2They were greatly disturbed because the apostles were teaching the people and proclaiming in Jesus the resurrection of the dead.

10then know this, you and all the people of Israel: It is by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom you crucified but whom God raised from the dead, that this man stands before you healed. 11He is
" 'the stone you builders rejected,
which has become the capstone.[a]'[b] 12Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved."

What follows here at CHCC? Will it be darkness or light? I guess, we decide, don’t we?

We decide by deciding in whose name we are going to live – by whose authority we are going to live.

Maybe as we commune together today, we could all think about the name, the person, the authority of Jesus.
