The Power of a Moment

Significant times are marked by Discoveries, Occurrences, Situations. I call them moments.

What do we find in a Moment?

A moments can
++Define us
++Direct us

A moment can change our life

The Prophet Isaiah speaks of this kind of moment.

Isaiah 6:1 KJV 1900
1 In the year that king Uzziah died I saw also the Lord sitting upon a throne, high and lifted up, and his train filled the temple.
The theology Surrounding death is never easy.

Death is separation

Death is unlike any other moment of life.
++Permanent
++Permeating

It is the closure of activity in this life

In life there are few things harder than death.
Job 14:14 KJV 1900
14 If a man die, shall he live again? All the days of my appointed time will I wait, Till my change come.
Job asked Is there life after death? Though there is no clear answer.
Job saw death
++As an appointment
Hebrews 9:27 KJV 1900
27 And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:
Job saw death
As an appointment
++A change

Not everybody is waiting for this change

1 Corinthians 15:50 KJV 1900
50 Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption.
The natural progression of things is never bad to good, But good to bad.

There must be a divine intervention

John 3:16 KJV 1900
16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
Because of a whosoever
++God Gave His Son
++Jesus Gave his Life

God place a whole lot of faith in a hope

A Hope that
++Someone would notice
++Somebody would believe
1 Thessalonians 4:14 KJV 1900
14 For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him.

Jesus made a deposit so we can have a moment.

1 Thessalonians 4:13 KJV 1900
13 But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope.
1 Thessalonians 4:15 KJV 1900
15 For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep.
1 Thessalonians 4:16–17 KJV 1900
16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: 17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
1 Thessalonians 4:18 KJV 1900
18 Wherefore comfort one another with these words.

Why this message at this time?

Somebody here needs a moment
Somebody needs a change
Somebody need God to show up
How can I be comforted without a comforter?
2 Corinthians 1:3–4 KJV 1900
3 Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort; 4 Who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God.
