Out of Egypt

Exodus 5:22–6:8 NKJV
So Moses returned to the Lord and said, “Lord, why have You brought trouble on this people? Why is it You have sent me? For since I came to Pharaoh to speak in Your name, he has done evil to this people; neither have You delivered Your people at all.” Then the Lord said to Moses, “Now you shall see what I will do to Pharaoh. For with a strong hand he will let them go, and with a strong hand he will drive them out of his land.” And God spoke to Moses and said to him: “I am the Lord. I appeared to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, as God Almighty, but by My name Lord I was not known to them. I have also established My covenant with them, to give them the land of Canaan, the land of their pilgrimage, in which they were strangers. And I have also heard the groaning of the children of Israel whom the Egyptians keep in bondage, and I have remembered My covenant. Therefore say to the children of Israel: ‘I am the Lord; I will bring you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians, I will rescue you from their bondage, and I will redeem you with an outstretched arm and with great judgments. I will take you as My people, and I will be your God. Then you shall know that I am the Lord your God who brings you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians. And I will bring you into the land which I swore to give to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob; and I will give it to you as a heritage: I am the Lord.’ ”
We find the children of Israel under the cruel hand of the Pharo being held in a land of captivity
Egypt represents the land of slavery that each of us has come from
Many different pharos have ruled over the children of God
Pharo cocaine, Pharo alcohol, Pharo adultery just to name a few
God’s children which were created to live in freedom and victory found themselves trapped under the wight of a cruel taskmaster!
But there was a man whose heart was broken over the condition of God’s people, Moses!
But as Moses ent and confronted the Pharo the situation only got worse and he began to lose hope!
Exodus 5:23 NKJV
For since I came to Pharaoh to speak in Your name, he has done evil to this people; neither have You delivered Your people at all.”
There are times when we think deliverance will never come but look at verse 1 of chapter 6
Exodus 6:1 NKJV
Then the Lord said to Moses, “Now you shall see what I will do to Pharaoh. For with a strong hand he will let them go, and with a strong hand he will drive them out of his land.”
Not only was God going to deliver them but they would be pushed out of the land of slavery!
Verse 3 reminds us that many know God but not as Lord!
Exodus 6:3 NKJV
I appeared to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, as God Almighty, but by My name Lord I was not known to them.
and in verse 4 He reminds them that they are only strangers in the land but they are to poses it!
Exodus 6:4 NKJV
I have also established My covenant with them, to give them the land of Canaan, the land of their pilgrimage, in which they were strangers.
But there was only pain and turmoil in this land and no hope of release!
God was listening as He always is ready to respond to our deepest need
Exodus 6:5 NKJV
And I have also heard the groaning of the children of Israel whom the Egyptians keep in bondage, and I have remembered My covenant.
