Set your hope on the future – begin with the end in mind – Jesus is coming back for us
Why should we be holy – because of the character of God – Holy and Just
 
 
 
*Therefore *– because of what has gone before … the grace, mercy given us manifest in our salvation – redeemed, justified, sanctified, adopted …imputed righteousness… now because of this
 
*Prepare your minds for action*
Our minds process – impacts our heart – what we think we become – our hearts can also cause us to think some unhelpful things – the realm of feeling and emotion – cause irrational thoughts
Realm of feelings – our minds help us to rule over feelings
We have a renewed mind and we constantly renew our minds – the word and fellowship helps

As followers of Christ we are filled with the Holy Spirit  - you are weak but the Spirit is strong –
Who are you listening to?

Listen to the Spirit of God!
 
Be ready to endure trials – the wind and the waves of life
Be sober-minded – be discreet – be watching

2 Thess 1:7 and give relief to you who are troubled, and to us as well.
This will happen when the Lord Jesus is revealed from heaven in blazing fire with his powerful angels.
He will be revealed and arrive in Glory !

Conduct becoming children of the most high – some people do … but in this family we do not…

Conforming to a pattern that is contra to our flow – where are we going – an example is modesty in dress – behavior in public etc whose model are we following who do we model our lives on?
Our conformity is should be to Christ (opp to our former life which was:
Supremely selfish
Living for personal gratification
Free indulgence to appetites
Customs dictating not Christ his maker
Lived for fame and fortune wealth and recognition
We are called to be in this world but not of this world – resident alien – their should always be a component in our lives that is salty and light – different – it is only a faith filled live empowered by Holy Spirit power that we are able to do this.
*But just as he who called you is holy, so be holy in all that you do*
We ought to be like our father – you can tell children’s parents – their manner etc

We are holy in Gods eyes but we are not their yet –
The already but the not yet fully – we are in a process of sanctification – we will one day reach that point – that will be in eternity

Our mind and thoughts are the same in terms of our faith – the subtle creep of faithless pragmatism!
The subtle creep of entitlement and the subtle creep of self indulgent pleasure!
What stops me doing stupid stuff…
