The Westminster shorter Catechism asks what is the chief end of man the answer: Man's chief end is to glorify God and enjoy him forever. The Scripture has important things concerning our worship and bringing glory to God. We are invited to study this passage not with a view of reproducing it exactly, but instead, to discover what is intended by its different elements and how supported by other passages of Scripture, we might be able to identify some appropriate patterns in our worship today.
