The Sin and Burnt Offerings in the Old Testament were picture language. Jesus came as the perfect Lamb of God. All of our sin was transferred to Jesus on the cross. All of His perfection and holiness is credited to us, when we accept His payment LAMB OF GOD His Holiness God took the sinless Christ & poured onto Him our sins. Then in exchange, He poured God’s goodness into us. 2 Cor 5:21 (Living Bible) The Christian Life How God sees us God the Father sees me in the holiness of Jesus DECLARED HOLY my legal standing justification x the gap The Holy Spirit sees me at the foot of the cross needing to be more holy BE HOLY my daily experience sanctification X Salvation is when I receive justification. The Christian life is when I am receiving sanctification. Salvation is when I am declared holy. The Christian life is when I am becoming holy. The goal is to close the gap between the holiness that God put on my account and the holiness I have in my daily experience. The return of Jesus is when my holiness will be complete; there will be no more gap. 7 OUR SPIRITUAL LIFE Saved from the penalty of sin Jesus Heaven PAY to April AD 1 31 Guilty Person $ Separation Separated from Father in your place The check Jesus offers us in order to pay our fine/penalty.
