What was the point of going to Jerusalem?

3rd trip to Jerusalem.
Point was to go and share the gospel that he had been preaching to the gentiles.
Remember that Jews were still skeptical of gentile believers
Vs 4 the judizers were brought in secretly and slyly in order to bring people back under the jurisdiction of the law.
Vs 5 Paul did not yield to this false doctrine, this is a testament of how we as believers should react to false doctrine. It is not enough to rely on your pastors and elders, although they will be held directly accountable for it, but you will be held directly responsible for what you believe. Do you know what the bible says? Do you know what Justification is? Sanctification is? Substitution is? Imputation is?
These are the very basics of the gospel yet most Christians cannot tell you what these mean. Even here at Grace Harvest!
Paul is saying that he maintained the gospel so a different one would not be taught, why because there is no other gospel. 1:7
Paul seeks those whom seem important. James Cephas and John.
Paul’s statement here is from the view of the Judiazers they looked at men as being on higher grounds. Yet means that in God’s eyes his children are equal. I cannot say that my work in Christ is more important than Pastor Jamie’s or Greg’s or Wes’. Vs 7-8 Shows that it is the same God same gospel same Spirit same grace and mercy that works through us all. The same message was meant for the gentiles as it is meant for the Jews.
The right hand of fellowship meant that there are approved that they preach the same gospel and were correct in their theology. Only remember to give this message to the poor.
The gospel is the same that I teach, to Pastor Jamie, to Greg and Wes, to Pastor Mark on Sundays. We should all be proclaiming the same gospel not because we have gotten together in secret meetings to get our story straight. We teach and preach the same because we teach from the same Word of God and it becomes not what we say but what God’s Word says.
The gospel. turn away from false doctrines.
