Worry Not
Disciples are to seek as their first priority, not the things they would like to have or even the things they are sure they need.
But, instead, they are to seek first the kingdom of God and hid righteousness.
As one commentator puts it 'Jesus is clearly saying that the disciples first and best effort is to be directed towards God's kingdom.
The passage highlights the now and not yet of the kingdom of God.
It looks at both the here and now where we should be doing the will of God.
But, it also looks at the future final kingdom that is yet to come.
Both the 'now and not yet' are of equal and great importance to us as disciples of Christ.

When we look at the word righteuosness, we are not seeking to bring our own righteuosness to the table.
the righteousness we seek is that which only God can give us and serves to highlight the the lives that we should live as a servant of God in this current age.
The main point to make perhaps is that as disciples we should be constantly seeking to do the things that our God will’s us to do, not that which we wish to do.
One commentator writes, ‘He who seeks that first, [Gods kingdom and righteousness], will soon seek that only’.
It is a mater of being submissive to God’s will and not our own.
Being obedient to the King.

Lastly, verse 34.
It begins with a therefore so we hav to look at the proceedeign verses which we have already done.
This helps to reassure us that we can trust that what is about to be said is true.
We are assured that we needn’t worry for tomorrow or for what is to come as we have put our trust and faith in our Heavenly Father.
This does not mean there wont be trouble, on the contrary believer and non believer will experience trouble daily as the verse implies, the difference however is how we face and view theses troubles.
For us as beleivers we can be assured that our heavenly father is there for us and we can place our trust in him and face each day with a firm faith that is grounded in Him.
Therefore we need not suffer with anxiety for tomorrow like the world does.
we only need to turn the news on to see the great anxiety that tomorrow will bring, war, brexit, continued fires and political unrest to name a few.
