God wants us to know him better.
It doesn’t matter where we are in our journey, we ALL can know him better.
If you will take the time to read, study, meditate, and pray, you will know him better.
He will speak to you.
God wants you and I to find freedom.
We all need freedom in our lives.
Some are stuck in struggles with self image… negative self talk… depression… anger … foul language… addictions (smoking, sugar, alcohol, drugs)
God wants you to find purpose
God has created each of us with a purpose.
We want you to discover that purpose.
He has put you in the jobs where you are for a reason.
… families for a reason…
God wants you to make a difference
Make a difference in our lives… families… work… dance team… playground…
Here is what I know…

Something has to change.
We need to push the peddle down and get going.
Repent means to change your mind and change your direction.
You should change it towards a different kingdom… KOH is near… it’s not far away and all you have to do is repent…
Too many people are not living lives of Joy.
People live lives of sadness and depression… frustration and anger… misery…
God has promised you joy… but…
Q - has that sadness helped you? has anger helped you? has fear helped you?
You can have joy in horrible circumstances …
Joy Comes...
God is saying that it’s time for the sadness to be over ...
In the middle of your worst days there is a joy you can have.
The day we live in … it’s easy for us to lose our joy.
Friday I walked out of the jail with Pastor Kathy and Fred, and some moron had parked a parish vehicle 2 inches from my car so there was no way I could get into the car.
There was plenty of room for him to have parked away from my car, but he parked it next to mine.
I went from happy after preaching in the jail to wanting to slice some tires and key the paint job… I didn’t do that, but it took me a minute to get over it.
Let’s look at God’s plan to give us joy.
Joy comes from knowing God has a plan for my life.
Joy comes from knowing why God made you and what he wants you to do…
If you don’t know how and why God made you along with what he wants you to do, you will never have joy.
When you know why God made you, you can have joy.
Jesus on his worst day… Heb 12 for the joy set before him he went to the cross.
Joy is the settled assurance that God is in control of all of the details of my life Kay Warren
Joy comes when we are certain that God will work things out.
Not only do you have a plan, but when the plan gets interrupted, you know that God is going to work it out.
Hindsight is 2020.
Talk to people who have gone through it and come out of the other side… they know that God has worked it out.
African King and his friend who always hunted.
Friend would always say this is good… lost his thumb… this is good the cannibals let him go.
this is good … why.... because if you had not put me in prison I would have been with you.
Joy is the quiet confidence that ultimately everything is going to be alright.

Joy comes when I choose Joy
Joy doesn't’ find you, you have to find it.
Dion’t be the person who walks around critical of everything… choose joy.
Winnie the Pooh - Tiger… he changes everything when he arrives on the scene.
Tiger, do you want to pick apples?
Sure, thats what Tigers do best… ice skate… sure…
Be the person that when you arrive it changes the atmosphere around you to one of joy…
Joy is the determined choice to praise God in all things.

It’s time to choose Joy
Here are three ways you can do this…
Paul wrote a book about joy… from prison.
1. Choose to look beyond what happened
Too many of us sit around thinking about what happened over and over.
Leading cause of suicide is people takin their bad days and thinking about it.
Paul was locked up in prison…
2. Choose to find new opportunities
Paul wrote a good portion of the bible while in prison.
He led countless people to the lord…
He led other inmates to the Lord.
3. Choose to focus on what really matters
Paul did not get sidetracked… he focused on what really mattered.
