1 John 2:18-27 “Last Hour Mentality”
The Antichrists
There is a worldly system that is always opposing the kingdom of God.
Anything that takes the place of Christ is an antichrist.
Antichrists will reject Jesus, thinking they have discovered something better.
Antichrists will deny who Jesus really is in their teaching and life.
Our Assurance
In the midst of the worldly system, we have greater assurance in Christ.
We have been given the Holy Spirit as the seal of redemption (Ephesians 1:13).
Through God’s Word, we know the truth about who Jesus is.
The antichrists never really had the Spirit or the truth.
Remaining Assured
We have the hope of remaining because God always remains (vs27).
We know that as we remain in Him, we will bear fruit in these times (John 15:5).
We experience the assurance of remaining in Him as we rely on Him and are committed to the truth.
