Pray

Father, I ask that you would take this worship not only as an opportunity to pour ourselves back to you. That you would search our hearts and outpour your spirit, love, and grace. We desire to continue our encounter You. Father, I ask that the words that would come out of my mouth are the words that you want to be said. God let the people see you and not me for I am just a man, who is nothing but with you God I am your messenger. Let you people hear you, and understand you. Lord, let these words touch the heart of others Father, let it touch me also. I ask that you would forgive me for all of my sins that I have made knowingly and unknowingly. Let my sin not interfere with your word but let me be used as your messenger.

Sermon Series In itself

For the next six or so messages we are going to be talking about Connecting with God and others. This series name is called "Where are you?" You may be wondering why are you asking the question "Where are you?" I would like to give you some more context for this series as it poses the open-ended question. I have some examples for some of the questions, let us look at the screen.
Examples:
Where are You (God) in my life?
Where are You in my relationships?
Father I ask that you would take this worship not only as us having the opportunity to pour ourselves back to you. That you would search our heart God that you would out pour your spirit and love and grace so that we can continue to encounter you. I ask that the words that would com out of my mouth are the words that you want said God let the people see you and not me for I am just a man, who is nothing but with you God I am your messenger. Let you people hear you, and understand you. Lord, let theses words not only touch the heart of others but let it touch me. Father forgive me for all of my sins that I have made knowingly and unknowingly let them not interfere with your word but let me be used as your messenger.
Where are You in my worship?
Throughout this series, I encourage you and challenge you to look at where God is in every aspect of your life.

Connecting

Today we will be spending time looking at the first part of our series, which is "What is Connecting?"
Earlier I mentioned the series title "Where are you?" To answer any question about where God is we must establish our connection with God. If we don’t have a good connection with God we can't find where he is in our lives.
First I would like to share. I love the origin of words, especially on biblical topics. Let us look at the origin and the definition of the word "Connecting".

Sermon Series

Connecting Definition

"Connecting"
Greek meaning "Krateo"
The root word "Krato"
For the next six or so messages we are going to be talking about Connecting with God and others. The name of our series is Where are You. Now you may be wondering why on earth are you asking me Were are you? I would like to give you a little more context.
κρατέω | krateō: seize; arrest; be strong; take possession of; rule over, to be strong, powerful, hold on to; control; arrest; keep; accomplish.
κρατος | Kratos: power; might
The Question is really open ended
Connections are powerful, which I believe is import to understand why they are and the true meaning of why a connection is so powerful. The greek illustration gives us a clear definition of to why.

Cellphone Analogy:

For Example:
Where are You (God) in my life?
Where are You in my relationships
Where are You in my relationships?
Where are You in my worship?
Throughout this series I would like you to just think about those questions and I encourage you and challenge you to look at where God is in every aspect of your life.
Now today I would to just focus on the word Connecting.
Most of us have cell phones. A cell phone doesn’t have cables attached to them. Unlike landlines the are required to plug into a wall jack or modem to allow phone calls. Now, Cell phones do have to connect to something to get information.

Connecting

A Cell Phone connects to a Cell tower which can be located feet and sometimes up to 45 miles away. [Examining cellphone] A device that fits in my hand can communicate with another device 45 miles away.
Taking a step further, Our Cellphones may all look the same but they each have a unique number that no other cell phone has. This unique number allows the carrier to give them access to the network.
Now I want to break that part down.
The Phone has a unique number that no other device has.
Now you may be wondering why are we talking about connecting when I just said were looking at Where are you God.
In order to answer any question about where God is we have to look at our connection with God. If we don’t have a good connection with God we cant find where he is in our lives.
After we have decided on a carrier that number gives us access to the network.
I just want to share that I love the origin of words especially on topics that we are moving through. To start off I would like to look at the origin and the definition of Connecting which happens to be our topic which is
Where we can request information, make phone calls, call for help, Connect with our friends, research our problems, etc...

Now I have an analogy for you all.
Most of us have cell phones, Our cell phone don’t have cables attached to t o them unlike landlines. Now theses Cell phone have to connect to something to get information right.
Now our cell phoneS talk to something to get the device they are registered with a carrier an d have their own uniqued identity.

7 Those who are loved by God, let his love continually pour from you to one another, because God is love. Everyone who loves is fathered by God and experiences an intimate knowledge of him.

8 The one who doesn’t love has yet to know God, for God is love. 9 The light of God’s love shined within us when he sent his matchless Son into the world so that we might live through him. 10 This is love: He loved us long before we loved him. It was his love, not ours. He proved it by sending his Son to be the pleasing sacrificial offering to take away our sins.

16 For this is how much God loved the world—he gave his one and only, unique Son as a gift. So now everyone who believes in him will never perish but experience everlasting life.

In order to answer any question about where God is we have to look at our connection with God. If we don’t have a good connection with God we cant find where he is.
