God created the entire universe
It is no accident that God is the subject of the first sentence of the Bible, for this word
dominates the whole chapter and catches the eye at every point of the page: it is used some
thirty-five times in as many verses of the story. The passage, indeed the Book, is about him first
of all; to read it with any other primary interest (which is all too possible) is to misread it.
~Derek Kidner
The heavens declare the glory of God, and the sky above proclaims his handiwork.
Psalm 19:1
By faith we understand that the universe was created by the word of God, so that what is
seen was not made out of things that are visible.
Heb 11:3
Creation Pattern:
And God said… Let there be… And God called… And God saw it was
good… And there was evening and there was morning.
Then God said, “Let us make man in our image, after our likeness. And let them have
dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over the livestock and
over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.”
So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female
he created them.
Gen 1:26-27
Our purpose is to bear God’s image
By being in relationship with Him
And God blessed them. And God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth and
subdue it, and have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and
over every living thing that moves on the earth.”
Gen 1:28
By representing His rule to the entire world
And God blessed them. And God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth and
subdue it, and have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and
over every living thing that moves on the earth.”
Gen 1:28
