Thrust: Through eyes of faith (looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith) we will be able to see the goodness, greatness and faithfulness of God - amid uncertainties and adversities – and be overcomers.

God’s message to us is:

With Him, the

  • tangled becomes untangled
  • burden becomes blessing
  • natural becomes supernatural
  • ordinary becomes extraordinary
  • impossible becomes possible

OUR VISION AND MISSION

God has called us:

  • To be a Spirit-filled people: fully devoted followers and disciples of Christ
  • To be a Spirit-filled Church: produce life-change and community impact
  • To reach and impact the spiritually unresolved—here and beyond: locally and overseas

DEFINITION

What does it mean to HAVE FAITH IN GOD?

  • to have a wholehearted belief in God
  • to have absolute and radical trust in God to do the impossible on our behalf
  • to act on what we believe about Him and His Word
  • to read and obey God’s Word unflinchingly

God's Word says it. We believe it. We will do it.

David's Prayer:

“Show me Your ways, O Lord, teach me Your paths; guide me in Your truth and teach me, for You are God my Saviour, and my hope is in You all day long (Psalm 25:4–5)

Teach me your way, Lord, that I may rely on your faithfulness; give me an undivided heart, that I may fear your name (Psalm 86:11)

CALLING

We are called to:

  • Walk in Faith – with Courage and Confidence
  • Live by Faith - with Assurance
  • Serve with Faith - with Perseverance
  • Die in Faith = with Endurance

SOURCE OF FAITH

Where does faith come from?

  • Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God (Rom 10:17)
    • We must read, study, meditate, act on God’s Word
  • Faith is built up as we pray in the Spirit: speak in tongues (Jude 20)

IMPORTANCE OF FAITH

  • With Faith, we will please God
    • because "faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see" (Heb. 11:1)
  • Without Faith, we can never please God
    • “And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to Him must believe that He exists and that He rewards those who earnestly seek Him" (Heb 11:6)

- If we don't believe God, we will never obey Him.

MANDATE

God expects His people to live by faith (Hab 2:4)

  • Heb 2:4 - not by pride or greed
  • Rom 1:17 - in His righteousness, not ours
  • Gal 3:11 - being justified by Christ, not by law
  • Heb 10:37-38 - shall remain faithful (stand firm) to the end

BENEFITS OF FAITH IN GOD

  • Faith in God brings salvation, blessings, healing, breakthrough, signs, wonders, miracles, victory, rest, joy, peace, hope, strength, power, eternity in heaven, etc.
  • Faith in God eliminates fear and confusion, doubt and speculation, uncertainty and indecisiveness.

A MATTER OF CHOICE

Faith is a choice of the heart:

  • to trust God completely and hold on to His promises or to reject Him and His Word
