Sermon in a Sentence:As we begin a new year we should rededicate ourselves to read and live the Word of God.
I. We Should Study the Bible with Dependency Upon God for Understanding (Psa. 119.18,12,26,33,64,68,108,124,135;1 Cor. 2.9-16)
The Spirit who inspired the Bible must instruct us in its meaning.
II. We Should Study the Bible with Diligence and Delight.
- A. Daily in the Morning (Psa. 119.148;63.1;1.2)
- B. Deeply with Careful Thought (Psa. 119.97)
- C. Delightfully with Pleasure (Psa. 119.103;24)
III. We Should Study the Bible with Determination to Obey God. (Psa. 119.4,5,8,34)
- A. God's Law (Psa. 119.1,25)
- B. God's Statues (Psa. 119.5,22)
- C. God's Commandments (Psa. 119.6,21)
/The most important thing is not how many times we get through the Bible but how many times the Bible gets through us.
