Isaiah 9:6 NKJV
For unto us a Child is born, Unto us a Son is given; And the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

This week of our advent is on peace
When Isaiah wrote this Scripture 2700 years ago, he was foretelling the greatest moment in history.
One who would bring peace to the world
Jesus is the Prince of Peace

What does peace mean to you?

Human Peace
When we hear peace we may think of peace from war…People getting along
You may be thinking about peace at home
We may think of a peaceful stream…
David said He leads me beside still waters....he restores my soul
If you’ve ever been to the lake or a quiet stream there is a certain peace about it
When David spoke about his Shepherd, he said “He leads me beside still waters, he restores my soul”
Peace reminds me of my little baby Judah when he sleeps...
There is this state of peacefulness that
I want to share with you what biblical peace is
Eph
Ephesians 2:15 NKJV
having abolished in His flesh the enmity, that is, the law of commandments contained in ordinances, so as to create in Himself one new man from the two, thus making peace,
Eph 2:
Ephesians 2:14–16 NKJV
For He Himself is our peace, who has made both one, and has broken down the middle wall of separation, having abolished in His flesh the enmity, that is, the law of commandments contained in ordinances, so as to create in Himself one new man from the two, thus making peace, and that He might reconcile them both to God in one body through the cross, thereby putting to death the enmity.
True peace, real peace, peace that surpasses all understanding is found in Christ
Because of sin we have separated ourselves from God
Because of sin we are never truly satisfied
We can have periods of peace and happiness but it is never permanent
Only God’s act of sheer mercy can we find this peace
That
John 14:27 NKJV
Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.
Let me explain what biblical peace means to me
If I walk out this door today and I get in a wreck on my way home....I KNOW WHAT IS COMING NEXT FOR ME
If I go home to a tragedy then I know everything is going to be ok because I am anchored to the solid Rock
If Jesus comes back tonight (and He very may well) then my dear friends I am ready and I know there is a mansion prepared for me in glory
What would your answer be to those questions?
The peace that Jesus gives cannot be taken away by this world
It is a supernatural peace
It is a satisfying peace
It is an everlasting peace
Let me tell you how you can have this peace
Jesus said, ‘I am the way, the truth, the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me”
John 14:6 NKJV
Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.
There is no other way to get to God except through Jesus
When you come to Christ, the reward is not just heaven in the future, but to be able to live the Christian life today
The inner peace begins with Christ
Life only truly begins when we are born again
The things only Jesus can give begins the day you make Him your Lord
We are going to play about three or four verses this morning
With sin we are at enmity with God
BUT through Jesus we can have this peace
Lis
This is a time when you can come and receive this peace only Jesus can give
You can come and talk to me
You can come to pray at the alter
Even if you do not know why you feel led to come but know God wants you to, you come
If you feel the need to come, you come!
