The last of the four gospel-writers is John, who delivers a significantly different account of Jesus to the other three. Over the centuries, the church has been richly blessed with John’s emphases and theology, as he highlights the light, life and love that Jesus brings into the world. By showing the deity and humanity of Jesus, John urges us to believe that he is the Son of God, so we will have eternal life in his name. And many, many people have come to faith through the wonderful gospel metaphors and the clear gospel revelation that John offers. So, we can continue to be enriched and equipped by John’s Christology, in order to continue sharing it for the eternal salvation of others.
